Mine is "I Wanna Be Sedated" for most calls and "You Dropped a Bomb on Me" for calls from my SO. It works.

i remember when we used to remember someones actual phone number, becuase we had to put our finger in the hole and spin the dial.

I kid you not, my parents still have a couple of dial phones. They're in spare rooms that they don't use much (my mom's theory: we don't use those very much, they're just there in case someone's in that room and needs to answer the phone... they still work, don't they?).

yeah, my parents still have one in the back of the house, still works. and it still rings the same too. not to be negative, but i think the cell phone/camera/mp3 player/gps/palm/internet surfing/video game "phone" is dumb. i prefer to look and listen to the world, not to a battery powered device. but, to each thier own

I don't have downloadable ringtones, so mine is one of the organic choices from the phone software - "Stars and Stripes Forever" (imagine that).

It is quite loud with the ringer volume turned all the way up, so I am very conscious about having the phone on vibrate when it's on my body.

I was at a graveside burial service last Spring, and parked my convertible (top down) only a short walk from the gravesite. I was quite intentional about triple-checking my phone to make sure I had turned it off, and I left it in the cupholder in the car.

As the Preacher was reading the Bible verse, I heard the very familiar - and LOUD - "Stars and Stripes Forever," right next to me. My blood froze as I tried to figure out that could have happened despite all of my precautions. I relaxed when I saw the red-faced lady next to me digging frantically in her purse to shut it off.

I have other special ringtones too, but i'm tired of listing them, but i love knowing who is calling without even having to look at my phone.

My standard tone, like some others, is Stars and Stripes. My wife on the other hand, bugged me forever, until I found her tone to download to her phone (it wasn't easy, trust me.) Her tone is the "Chicken Dance."

Yea, she gets some strange looks...

Mine sounds like a regular telephone, at the lowest volume setting. I choose not to appear like a moron when and if I can possibly avoid it.

I have my cell-phone set to ring like an 'old-time' telephone on high setting. That is because my hearing is about half shot from too many years of loud rock music and big-bore rifles.

Mine plays a Los Lonely Boys song- Dime Mi Amor. I like it, plus I think there is something to be said for having a unique ringtone when everyone and their mother now owns a cell phone. At least if I'm on the train or in a crowded room, I know when its my phone ringing. I do switch it to silent or turn it off when I'm someplace where a loud obnoxious ringtone would be inappropriate- movie theatre, nice restaurant, etc.

The problem, of course, is the 70% who don't or won't turn their phones to silent in public places and end up looking like morons when it "rings".

BTW Los Lonely Boys M? I suppose they were an adequate opening band for the Stones concert in Chicago.

I've got Santana too, but I've been using that one for voicemail notification. (Los Lonely Boys is a better quality ring tone......) I haven't gotten around to shopping for new ones lately!

I thought about being REALLY obnoxious and getting either Gwen Stefani's HollaBack Girl or Wheezer's Beverly Hills, but that would be for the sole purpose of annoying others with my ring tones! I decided against it!
