skybytch 273 #1 December 31, 2005 That's right. I don't need a flu shot. Well, now I don't anyway. Why get a flu shot when you've already got the flu? I blame the chickens. I've got the ibuprofen, the big box of Kleenex and an out of date bottle of DayQuil. What else will make me feel better? I hate being sick.
Jumpervint 0 #2 December 31, 2005 I got my flu shot in October. I work in a school. I'm not taking any chances. I then went to my chiropractor and asked him his opinion of flu shots, not telling him I had just received one. He proceeded to tell me 'why would you inject poison into your body?' and that none of his four kids had ever had a single vaccination. One extreme or another, I guess. Vint. . . . . rsmn17 0 #9 December 31, 2005 I was on a waiting list at my doctor's office for the flu shot. Then I got the flu and they called me the next day saying they had the shot! Big help
Michele 1 #10 December 31, 2005 Lisa, you're not alone. I came home from Oregon with a nasty cold, and it's gotten worse. Of course, my neice is 19 months old and has never had a clean nose in her life (does any toddler??) so it's no wonder. I'm on my 3rd box of tissue, and shaking I'm so weak... In addition to what you already mentioned, the best remedy is water, water, water and then sleep, sleep, sleep. And take something to help you sleep, too. Tylenol PM, or another sleep aid...it's hard to sleep when you a)can't breathe and b) are stiff and sore. Sorry you're sick...hope you feel better soon. susanjumps 0 #11 December 31, 2005 I know what you mean. The last time I had the flu was the last year I got a shot. Of course, today I woke up fine, but have stedily have developed some sort of illness throughout the day. Guess it is a good thing I got 5 jumps in on Wednesday! Seriously, this sucks... and I can only sleep in about 90 minute shifts. Erleichda! "I just wasn't myself today," Gupta commented. "I wasn't any self today. I sure hope your chiropractor's kids never get tetanus, or polio, or even measles, not to mention hepatitis. All I will say about flu shots is that I've been getting them for the past ten years and not once have I been home with a pounding headache, hurling my guts up, wish I would just die and get it over with flu. If you're tired of being that sick, get the shots. They work. Your humble servant.....Professor Gravity !

RhondaLea 4 #14 December 31, 2005 Zicam, garlic (raw cloves, several times a day), capsaicin (try both capsules and www.sinusbuster.com), ginger (in any form), Oscillococcinum (I know, it's homeopathic, but all the anecdotal "evidence" says it works). Feel better soon. rlIf you don't know where you're going, you should know where you came from. Gullah Proverb
Ashtanga 0 #15 December 31, 2005 I have strep throat. Got it from my neice and nephew over Christmas. It hurts and I wake up in the middle of the night not able to swallow. I have to cough but it hurts like hell. Guess I will be home for a few days.

pincheck 0 #17 December 31, 2005 flu shot "correct me if i'm wrong" are only any good if that type of flu the authorities expect that winter happens. All it does is give you a mild form of the virus so our body produces antibodies to attack the infection so if the real flu turns up your body is ready for it ? I didn't get it although i have asthma Billy-Sonic Haggis Flickr-Fun

That is all ANY vaccine is. I normally never get sick. Then they told us we had to have the shot. So I went to the TMC and got the stupid shot. Sure enough, I got sick from it.
