Barrett-Jackson Auction

Has anyone ever gone to the one in Palm Beach? Was it "worth it"?

I LOVE watching their auctions on the Speed Channel (watched it for the past two day, on again tonight, repeat though), and got to thinkin' that I may want to venture down to south Florida in March. Obviously it is to look, not buy.

not to rain on your parade but i would try ebay first, or good guys, or hot august nights.. barret is hard as hell to get a car into. first they inspect it then there is a sellers fee thats like 8-10%. but the inspection is the hard part. it has to be a high high high quality numbers matching etc veh.
if fun were easy it wouldn't be worth having, right?

Check out their web site barrett-jackson.com

If you want top dollar for your car, it maybe a way to go. Like Ebay you can put a reserve on the price. There are some pretty hefty fees and they do take a commision out, BUT, people come to these auctions to BUY a car and are willing to pay any price. If you have all the documentation on the car, to go as far as the original sticker price, any awards it may have won, etc, the more the better. The consigment fees you pay, also get you into the event, all parties, "back stage", etc (all kinds of goodies)...so it all equals out.

I'm with you on that one Chuck. Like I said I can look but not even dream of buying.

Don't twitch, scratch, wave to a friend while your there, you may have just bought a $300,000 car.:D THAT would be my luck:D.

Lol...no rain on my parade today...lol. This machine is put together right. I'm not familar with good guys or hot august nights and haven't really tried e-bay. I've heard some bad stuff about e-bay and being the puter illiterate that I am, I'm a little leary of that site. Any other ideas?? I'd kinda appreciate any help I can get. I really need to sell this thing. I know I'll never get out of it what I put into it but it should bring at least $35,000. I've got about $60,000 in it, not counting labor.

P.S. Nooooo, greenies - this isn't an advertisement. I'm trying to get info on how to sell my ride without taking a beating.
