Florida crew: Orlando area - February or April better for skydiving?

Recommended Posts

I'm going to come down there for a vacation in either February or April, and I'm curious which is a better time weather-wise, in general. February I'd have more time, but April I'd have more money (can you say TUNNEL TIME?)

If you want to wait until you have money for the tunnel, April is still a good month. Airfares may be higher though because that is Spring Break time. The weather will be very pleasant and the rainy season won't start yet.

February is fine too, just a little cooler.

February may be a bit cool at altitude, April should be nice since it doesn't start to get really hot until May... but with the way the weather has been lately it's hard to say. Either way you'll have some beautiful weather for jumping...

I went during both times last year. I don't know if it was just a freak thing - but we got soaked in February, 5 straight days of rain. I have never spent so much money in 5 days not jumping, than those 5 days. It only rained for 2 day while I was there in April (figures one of them was my canopy course at Deland :S) - but the winds did start to do wierd things later in the day, which I guess is another 'Florida' thing.

Folks that live in Florida - is it normally wet in February?

No. The weather was weird last year. The rainy season started early or something.

This year it has been pretty mild, so February is probably going to be nice, and April is probably going to be awfully warm.

Normally it's dry from November thru May or June, but the way the weather has been the last couple years the only thing I will guarantee is that winter brings snow birds....
