tetra316 0 #1 January 7, 2006 So who's gone back to school after a couple years? I'm thinking about going to grad school this fall. Any advice, tales? I just know I'll miss having money that's for sure
freefalle 0 #2 January 7, 2006 I took some time off, I've been back for a semester now. Its tough at times, I work full time and Im in nursing school. My advise is but yourself on a schedule, try to work the same days/hours every week and budget your time. find out what works for you and stick to it. good luck, education is the key to a better life. NWFlyer 2 #3 January 7, 2006 I was a much better student the second time around (graduate school). I'd worked full-time for three years so I was able to approach grad school like a job - I was at school either in class or studying for most of the day (when I was an undergrad, I would only go to class during the day ... never bothered to study before the evening)."There is only one basic human right, the right to do as you damn well please. And with it comes the only basic human duty, the duty to take the consequences." -P.J. O'Rourke
Guest 1010 #4 January 7, 2006 went back 3 years after leaving undergrad school, to finish upper div comp sci & math courses ... I was a much better student the second time through. It was all about grades & learning the second time around. I nailed the easy courses (even when boring), and put out the effort necessary for the harder ones. I was working construction before starting classes, but it only took a few weeks to get into the whole reading-writing thing again. Easily the best use of money and time I've ever spent was to finish up the degree. You can have it good, fast, or cheap: pick two.
