Falko 0 #1 January 6, 2006 What's your WEBSUDOKU record? Post a screenshot... come one... get me depressed! My fastest time for a level 1 is 3:35mins. Did I say my eyes hurt? Jethers203 0 #2 January 7, 2006 I have never played this until now. I am sure this score sucks. Clint
Samurai136 0 #3 January 7, 2006 Unfortunately it is possible to cheat. Complete a puzzle, print it out and then keep 'playing' that puzzle. I played the same puzzle 4 times. I took me 1:45 to do the data entry. Maybe I need to practice. Best raw time so far is 11:29; but I'm a little distracted watching CSI."Buttons aren't toys." - Trillian Ken

Michele 1 #6 January 7, 2006 I gave up after 30ish minutes. Apparently, I'm too stupid to understand the rules. D'oh!! Ciels- Michele ~Do Angels keep the dreams we seek While our hearts lie bleeding?~
BillyVance 35 #7 January 7, 2006 QuoteI gave up after 30ish minutes. Apparently, I'm too stupid to understand the rules. D'oh!! Ciels- Michele It's really quite simple. There are 10 rows and 10 columns, or is it 9 each? Each row and each column can only have one number shown once. You cannot have the same number twice in any column or row. Pretty simple, but a darn good challenge."Mediocre people don't like high achievers, and high achievers don't like mediocre people." - SIX TIME National Champion coach Nick Saban
tigra 0 #8 January 7, 2006 You're not stupid. There is a logic to it. It helps me to work in grids and also one number at a time. I still suck at it though!

Falko 0 #11 January 7, 2006 QuoteI gave up after 30ish minutes. Apparently, I'm too stupid to understand the rules. D'oh!! They're actually pretty simple: Enter digits from 1 to 9 into the blank spaces. Every row must contain one of each digit. So must every column, as must every 3x3 square. You will discover the solution techniques yourself inevitably if you practice, but if you want a detailed explanation, check out the Wikipedia article about Sudoku. Clean logic is something beautiful. What also amazes me is how fast one learns... when I started, I was so disappointed by my times (around 10-15 minutes). Now that I've done almost 100 puzzles, I'm down to 3:14 minutes as of yesterday. What I also discovered is that one stops finding the missing numbers by counting. For example "1...2..3-missing...4...5...6missing,7missing...8,9". Which is a very slow technique. Today I just look at a block and I immediately see "aha: 3,6,7 are missing". Scanning within a block is easy. Scanning within a row is also easy but takes a second longer... and I find that when scanning a column I still need to "count" sometimes.
