AlexCrowley 0 #26 January 10, 2006 Henry was a good movie, definitely captured more than Silence of the Lambs did on the serial killer creepy scale. (Brian Cox was better at Lecter). dunesurefer - where did you stop the movie? I assure you it got WAY WORSE! TV's got them images, TV's got them all, nothing's shocking. squink 0 #27 January 10, 2006 I saw this movie last night. My stomach is still turning. It was pretty gory. The story line was kinda gay, but the torture was gross. ...the door was open SKYDIVERGIRLS.COM

noblesmelissa 0 #30 January 10, 2006 I heard that Tarentino just "presented" it, whatever that means. I hear he had nothing to do with the actual movie... I think the guy that made the movie was the same one that made "Cabin Fever"...worst movie of all time, by the way... But Ill still go see "Hostel" because who doesn't like a gory, sick, twisted film?
GTAVercetti 0 #31 January 10, 2006 Quote But Ill still go see "Hostel" because who doesn't like a gory, sick, twisted film? Me.Why yes, my license number is a palindrome. Thank you for noticing.
AlexCrowley 0 #32 January 10, 2006 LOL no that really wasnt my point. If I was trying to be a prick I'd talk about Fulci, Argento or Tsukamoto. I was just wondering about the gore level in general and Romero recently had a pretty gorey movie out (land of the dead). TV's got them images, TV's got them all, nothing's shocking. AlexCrowley 0 #33 January 10, 2006 Tarentino likes to 'discover' movies and 'present' them. This can mean basic production to offering advice, to him simply thinking the movie is cool and giving it his 'stamp of approval'. Stephen King did similar with horror authors for a while in the late 80s, early 90s til readers twigged that King was a fucking book whore and would kiss anyones ass as being the 'next greatest horror writer of all time!' TV's got them images, TV's got them all, nothing's shocking.

jloirsdaan 0 #36 January 10, 2006 Thanks....I will have to try and track it down....its usually pretty easy to find movies here...most for around $3. Can get movies while they are still in theaters back in the States . Jordan Go Fast, Dock Soft.
AlexCrowley 0 #37 January 10, 2006 not a good date movie. Not a good popcorn movie. Not sure when this would be a good movie to watch and 'enjoy' it. TV's got them images, TV's got them all, nothing's shocking.
jloirsdaan 0 #38 January 10, 2006 Yeah, I watch a lot of "horror" movies. Don't really know why. My wife hates them and I can never get her to watch them with me. But I can watch whatever now.....just me and the laptop . Jordan Go Fast, Dock Soft.
AlexCrowley 0 #39 January 10, 2006 I've got into watching movies on the laptop, especially in the middle of the night. I usually work with a movie running in the background - I do a lot of good technical work when there's intense movies playing - now I just rip the audio tracks and play them at work. Which can be a little distracting for people who come talk to me while characters are screaming and raving with various splatter noises. TV's got them images, TV's got them all, nothing's shocking. JohnRich 4 #42 January 10, 2006 Let's review. Initial message: QuoteI don't know what it is, but I just don't like watching shit like that. For example, when the be-headings surfaced, and everyone was rushing to there pc to look; I was not. I think I just live, and feel better knowing I did not witness shit like that. Maybe I've got problems or something. My response: QuoteIt is perfectly normal to be highly offended by such scenes of horror. Maybe those who enjoy watching real people have their heads cut off are the ones with the problem... Your response to me: Quotethere's a difference between reality and fantasy - something you may want to look further into yourself based on recent posts. You need to work on your reading comprehension. I wasn't referring to any fantasy movie scenes of beheadings, but rather to the terrorist videos of the real thing. If you had been paying the least bit of attention, you should have noticed that. Follow the "In reply to" links and see for yourself. But apparently, you were in too big a hurry to find some excuse to bash me, to actually pay attention to what I said, and to what I was responding. Tsk tsk. It's too bad you just ended up putting your foot in your mouth. It seems that you are the one who can't keep up with a conversation about what is reality and what is fantasy. AlexCrowley 0 #43 January 10, 2006 I realize that memory gets cloudy at your age but your initial response to the first post in the thread was: "I don't see how watching people be murdered in gruesome hideous fashion can be entertaining. But I'm just an old fuddy duddy." So lets recap: you talked about a fictional movie, and a real life situation. So that'd be fantasy and reality.... Lets discuss that reading comprehension thing further when you have some time. TV's got them images, TV's got them all, nothing's shocking.
