Cornholio 0 #2 January 11, 2006 I can't believe that the majority so far stays centered in their lane before making the right hand turn. I hate that shit! If you're turning right, and you're not hugging the curb then you're doing it wrong - IMO. You do this out of courtesy for people behind you that want to continue straight ahead. Or what's worse is when there's a long line of cars in the right lane who are going straight, and you are wanting to turn right. But there's that asshole who can't make up their mind and is blocking you from sliding down the right hand side to turn right. I think there should be a "dumbass rule" in effect. If you see someone being a dumbass, you should have the option to report them and after 3 strikes, their license is taken away and they have to retake the license exam. OR, it would be much cooler if us cool people all had rocket launchers or railguns on the tops of our cars and we could just blow them up and get them our of our way. Sorta like spyhunter crossed with Quake. Butthead: Whoa! Burritos for breakfast! Beavis: Yeah! Yeah! The individual who hit us was making a right hand turn (he was in the right lane) and we were driving past him in the lane to his left. He was one of the dumb asses who thinks you need to make a small turn to the left so that you will have enough room to get your car around the turn. He even argued with us and told us that my friend was driving to close to right side of her lane....Yeah, WTF ever! Never mind that you actually entered her lane to make your right hand turn. Should be an interesting police rpt. and insurance claim. "Excuse me while I kiss the sky..." - Jimi Hendrix
Broke 0 #4 January 11, 2006 Unless they are driving a bus sized or larger they shouldn't have to swing wide. according to the book you are supposed to stay centered. I however pull right so the people behind me don't have to slow down as much.Divot your source for all things Hillbilly. Cornholio 0 #5 January 11, 2006 Yeah, that truly is a dumbass maneuver. However - if he stayed in his lane and did his little left turn-right turn and you crossed over into his lane, then you're probably at fault. But if he crossed over into your lane - then he is at fault. Good luck with that! Butthead: Whoa! Burritos for breakfast! Beavis: Yeah! Yeah! Sorta like spyhunter crossed with Quake. Mr. Holio, I agree wholeheartedly. It seems as if people want to stay centered in their lanes and come to a full and complete stop prior to making the turn. That way, the can be sure to hug the curb while accellerating out of the turn. To the dumbasses that do this - ever notice that bike lanes and fog lines are always broken up before an intersection? It's to show that, yes indeed, you can pull to the right. In fact, it is often recommended so that you don't slow to a complete stop in a lane of traffic on a green light when there's a 50 mph speed limit, thus assisting the process of a nice rear-end collision. I'll admit, it's something that pisses me off a lot here in the Central Valley. They don't do that shit in Los Angeles. You'll get shot for pulling that crap. LA drivers are polite lest they get capped. I think we need more of that elsewhere. My wife is hotter than your wife.
