Have you ever stuck a 9 volt battery on your tongue?

Recommended Posts

Every since we got our dog an e-collar people think we are abusing our dog so to show them that it doesn't hurt Derek will say "It feels like sticking a 9 volt battery on your tongue". So far 100% of men have said they have done it and 100% of women have said they have not done it but that this confirms that men are weird.

So have you ever stuck a 9 volt battery on your tongue, and why did you do it?

Okay, so I'm going to be screwing up your poll. Yes I've done it, but then again, I'm not your typical female (ask anyone who knows me) B|;):):D

How else are you going to check if it has a charge before you install it?

And here this whole time I thought it was a male right of passage. "Ok Son, it's time for you to grow up, here is a 9 volt battery put it on your tongue and you will be a man":D:D

Done it. I've also got those collars for my dogs and accidentally walked too close to the fence with my hand on both nodes and I'd have to say it's a bit stronger than a 9-volt. I don't think it's so strong to the point of being cruel though. I know I got the hell away from that fence quicker than I thought possible.:D

You already know my answer :D

Of course. Nearly every male has done that. My brother was the first person to point out that delightful activity. We've even seen who could hold it the longest. I don't recall who won... or lost... however you want to categorize that.

I haven't seen a collar in person but I'd certainly be one of the idiots to walk toward the fence with it.

My brother and I used to do the very same thing... I don't believe I ever won. :D

Read my previous post about what kind of collar it is.

Yep I have held it in my hand, I feel it at 20, but Derek doesn't feel it till 40, Derek has had it at 80 but I'd be one of those sensitive dogs and not need probably more than 40 to get my attention while Derek would probably be like Sherpa and blast through 100 if it meant catching a marmot.

Anyway I'm not going to debate the collar, I've used it on myself and it was no big deal. Plus the results are proven, this dog would be back in the rescue because no other training method other than the pinch collar worked and if I'm going to use a collar I might as well use one that can allow him to be off leash.

Oh...not debating it...I use it for my dog! She got trained well on it...it is set to just the beeping, and she knows that she shouldn't be in that area. I just was commenting about my experiance with testing it out. :P
