Quote and Its givin me the bug to get a bike and go do a trip to Seatle or something. lol Well you know you've got friends in Seattle. As for my longest road trip? The one I did with livendive and D22369 in April just *seemed* like the longest one, but really, it was the trip I did in May and June. Seattle through Oregon to Northern California to Eloy back to Southern California, up through Nevada and Utah to Idaho, and finally back to Seattle. It included 30 jumps at 6 dropzones (and lots of DZ.commers met!), 5 days on the Middle Fork of the Salmon river. Total of 4,800 miles over 3 1/2 weeks. mcneill79 0 #27 January 12, 2006 Best roadtrip I took was just after I graduated college. Decided at my graduation party with 2 of my friends to head out that night. Left my mom's in LI that night at about 10PM. Made it to my mom's summer house in PA for the night. Then drove up to Niagra, around the top of Great Lakes through Canada. Came back into the US through Michigan and then finished the circle around the lakes to get back home to NYC. We had no plan, just an Atlas to guide us. Ahhh the memories... makes me want to do something like that again.

jumpergirl 0 #29 January 12, 2006 Well, Upndownshop and I zig zagged our way from Florida to California and back last year. In 4 months we hit 21 states and drove 85,000 miles, or something like that. J? You there? You have all of the numbers. How far did we drive? ALOT!!!!!!!!! It was an AWESOME trip and I am so glad I got to do it with him. I would have killed anyone else if I had to be confined to that truck for that long. If that's not a test for the future, I don't know what is!! It looks like we passed, right Honey?
 BillyVance 35 #30 January 12, 2006 My two longest trips ever taken, and both were solos: In 1990, several months after I abruptly left college for home, leaving a few items behind that I couldn't take with me on the bus, I had to make a trip to collect the remaining items from friends in dorm rooms before the end of the school year, plus items I left at an uncle's house, and more at a college friend's home which luckily was right along the way. I left Huntsville, AL to go straight to Rochester, NY (sleeping in the back of the camper shell covered truck bed for a couple of hours during the night). Then I went to my uncle's near Syracuse. Spent the night there. Then drove back toward home, stopping in Columbus, OH to pick up last few items before home. I don't remember the total miles driven, but it took me 3 days, so it was probably about 2300 miles. The other longest trip was for a family reunion for Christmas in 1992 in the Florida Keys. I left Huntsville Christmas Day right after dinner with my folks (they were flying the next day) and took off for the Keys. I drove nearly non-stop, only stopping once when I was nodding off in the middle of the morning the next day somewhere near Lake Wales. I made it to Islamorada in the Keys, 25 hours after leaving home. During the week-long vacation I made a day trip to Key West. Then drove back home, really taking a big risk with a huge tombstone drawn on paper taped to the back of the camper shell access door. On it read: R.I.P. Miami Hurricanes, 34 - 13, Jan. 1, 1993, ROLL TIDE! Man did I get a lot of dirty looks and birdies going through the Miami metro area on the highways. Glad that was all I got.
