Unconscious under canopy

Recommended Posts

This depends on planform and wingload, but generally, if your are numb, in your harness, you have a tendency to lay you body to one side.

This will cause, especially on elliptical mains, or higher loaded tarp's, a slower, or higher speed spiral or turn to one side.
(more if your brakes already set)

Not necessarily. I was unconscious under canopy a few years ago (fairly lightly loaded Spectre) and flew in a straight line (away from the regular landing area, but according to eyewitnesses, totally straight). More about it here if you're interested.

I was unconscious under canopy before and didn't spiral. I was extremely light headed, but managed to unstow my brakes. I remember setting up my landing pattern, but then i blacked out. Woke up on the ground. Landed with no flare, but flew a straight in approach.
