windcatcher 0 #1 January 23, 2006 Can anyone help please? I have a paper due today that I am having a hard time accessing. I typed it up in Word Processor ( Microsoft works expired)...I saved it on a disc and how do I get the computer to recognize the file so I can open it up and do more than read it, since the computer I am on doesn't have the same word processor program?? I need to add some stuff to the paper... Mother to the cutest little thing in the world...
BillyVance 35 #2 January 23, 2006 Can you possibly go to the file menu, and click "save as", then go to the second box where you type in the file extension, click on it to open the pull-down menu that shows all the acceptable file formats and pick one that'll work for you? Not sure if that's what you're asking for, but I am guessing."Mediocre people don't like high achievers, and high achievers don't like mediocre people." - SIX TIME National Champion coach Nick Saban
Sen.Blutarsky 0 #3 January 23, 2006 Else you can E-mail your document to a friend, heck if you hurry you can PM it to me, who has a Microsoft product on her computer and can re-save the file in a compatible format like rich text. Otherwise you are swimming against an unsupported proprietary format without a paddle as far as I can tell. Blutarsky 2008. No Prisoners!
BillyVance 35 #4 January 23, 2006 I have all the microsoft programs on my computer as well. If she wants to, she can email it to me as well and specify what file format is needed."Mediocre people don't like high achievers, and high achievers don't like mediocre people." - SIX TIME National Champion coach Nick Saban
windcatcher 0 #5 January 23, 2006 Okay, nevermind, I got it. I tried saving it in different formats, but that didn't work...said the file was corrupted. I don't know much about computer stuff, but I clicked on the file, went to properties and changed what the read-only file could be opened in. Thanks anyway guysWhew!!! I knew I could ask you guys for help though. Smooches!! Mother to the cutest little thing in the world...
