Doesn't anyone want to jump anymore?

Recommended Posts

First day in over 35+ days of rain that is beautiful and sunny. I awoke with anticipation of several jumps at one of the 3 DZ's within driving distance.

I started calling at 9am. I was only able to reach one at that time, and had no tandems or other calls yet. Got called back for 1 tandem at 1pm. Too far to drive for 1 jump.

The 2 other DZ's didn't answer the phone until almost noon, and by that time, it was too late to get a pilot and enough jumpers to fill a Cessna.

I have been having jump dreams for weeks, ever since I jumped my new Katana.

Well at least you've been able to make a jump on your new canopy. The same can not be said for yours truly. But hey, things have got to be looking up. I finally got a job offer and start the new gig next week. If you guys see me posting on DZ.COM during the day, give me shit. Hmmm ... any chance you're free this week to hook up before I start this new gig?

It's Tuesday in the middle of winter in the Pacific North West. What did ya expect?

I'm still trying to get used to all this winter time wet Pacific Northwest weather (it sure is nice to see sunshine for the first time in a long time). But I do look forward to visiting the Vancouver area DZs as well as the WA State area DZs once the weather starts improving.

I know how you feel. BEAUTIFUL weather today and yesterday, but nobody wants to jump.:( I sit out at the DZ SO MUCH wanting to jump and usually there is nobody, weekends and that's it.
Anywhere with nice or nicer weather than Oregon in need of a full time TI that has regular weekly fun jumpers? Also can pack/manifest and got my senior riggers ticket!:)

Yeah, unfortunately the reality that most people work and can't run out to the DZ on a moment's notice really hits hard this time of year. I haven't jumped in the NW since November... fortunately I've been on the road a lot so I've been able to get my winter jump on.:)

We'd probably be able to arrange stuff if it wasn't for the fact that the pilots have real jobs too.:S

Brad, I would be happy to be packing this weekend! I need some money and a break from studying. Besides, I don't jump in cold weather, unless someone else is buying my jump..;););)

Oh yeah? Do me a favor and Tanya Harding Stu next time you see him so I don't get my ass handed to me in the CPC. ;)

Dude Stu is likely to hand our asses to ourselves on the CPC no matter what we do to him. But it is an interesting concept ... to "Tonya Harding" someone ... it's a verb now ...

Just meant that if you couldn't be bothered to drive a bit to jump, why wonder why someone else won't do it....

Its funny how some people "choose" to miss the point. Perhaps I should spoon feed you information.

LABRYS DISCLAIMER
" I (Vectracide) would gladly drive to any of the 3 dropzones mentioned above for a day of jumping. "Jumping" defined as "repeatatively exiting an aircraft at or above 4,500' AGL for the duration of the daylight hours as specified within the USPA regulations" This would include, but not limited to, a steady stream of tandems, "up" jumpers in the numerical amount needed to keep aircraft full on each load, or any other event that would allow numerous "jumps" as defined above." In the event of not aquiring enough "up" jumpers, or the unfortunate event of 2 or less tandems for said day, I (Vectracide) have the right to complain as loudly as I deem necessary on the internet site of my choice without being "trolled" by others, not limited to just the perveyor or this disclaimer, said "Labrys"."
