Duckwater 0 #1 January 25, 2006 Someone ripped off my buddies private fuel tank so the only way to get enough gas in the Pitts was to drain it out of the Cub and pour it in with a small tank. The Pitts top wing blocks the fuel tank opening so you need a plastic hose to make it work. I had the gas tank on my shoulder trying to use both hands to get the hose right. The open vent poured leaded avgas right into my ear. filled it up. It did not hurt fot the first 10 seconds. Then, it quickly became the worst pain I have ever felt. My freinds were in the Waco Taperwing warming it up and saw me withering on the ground. I cussesd them as they were alughing and demanded they drive me to the emergency room. Luckily, here in Plano there was one 1 mile away. I thought I was going to die before I got there. They were great and put these drops in my ear that deadedned it almost immediately. I have some pain pills tonight (the only reward for being an idiot) and Im wondering how the long term effects of having leaded gas in your ear will be. I have had avgas all over, and in my mouth, but....in the ear......holy shit........I have never ebbn that miserable.. --

rickjump1 0 #4 January 26, 2006 I used to have a 52 MGTD with a leaky gas tank and yes, the same thing happened to me. Up to that point in life it was the worst pain I had experienced. Later in life getting shot and then a kidney stone proved to be more painful than the gas.Do your part for global warming: ban beans and hold all popcorn farts.
