Super Bowl Party Food

Recommended Posts

I'm helping my bf throw a Super Bowl party. What kind of stuff do you guys like to munch on during the games? If it were up to me, we'd have wine, cheese and crackers and chocolate but somehow I don't think that's going to fly.

Give me suggestions that can be made pretty easily. I'll be coming back from the Pyro Vixen Boogie that morning and won't have much time to prepare things.

Cucumber sandwiches (with the green bits cut off the cucumber).

Follow it up with strawberries and cream.

A nice cup of tea (earl grey) to go with the sandwiches.

I wonder how that will go with the EZ cheese. :P

Oh, one real easy thing is sausages wrapped in biscuit dough. Just buy the canned biscuit dough and then cook until the dough is done. This works best with the dough that gives you the layers. Use breasfast sausage that is already cooked, not some kilbasa or something.

Have to second the wings. You can get them pre seasoned and ready to bake/nuke at Costco/Sam's Club/Smart and Final in a big bag and real easy. They also have the pre-cut carrots and celary that go oh so well with the dressing.

For dipping and making nachos. Get the mondo bag of tortilla chips along with salsa, 5 layer dip, jalapenos, refried beans and lots of shredded cheese.

Order a sandwich tray that you can pick up on the way home from the boogie. Fresh and you don't have to worry about needing the frig space.

Big bag of trail mix or rice cracker mix. Sweet and salty with lots of crunch.

All of the above go very well with :D.

Bacon wrapped water chestnuts, baked till the bacon is a little crispy and then dropped in a crockpot of equal parts grape jelly and chili sauce.

Is that so the guests won't stay all night long? That truly sounds disgusting!

"grape jelly and chili sauce"

You are the second person that uses this combo....eeeeewh! I just can't get past the grape jelly. My friend from Germany makes that combo of sauces and then adds it to a crock pot full of meatballs and slow cooks them for 6 to 8 hours. I just couldn't try it.:|

freshly steamed shrimp (they usually steam it right there at the supermarket while-u-wait) + cocktail sauce

go to Costco & get a big bag of those little frozen eggrolls. or those tiny crabcakes.B|

invite a homebrewer & have him/her bring some really good beer.

I know it sounds terrible, that's why I added the "yes, I'm serious". I had to muster up a bit to try it the first time, but they're actually very good. :S See TeamJenn's reply. :P

Incredibly easy, cheap, tasty, and unique. What more could you want? B|

A big pot of jambalaya with andouille sausage (it's easy to make and cheap) and a variety of beers like Abita Purple Haze, Shiner Bock, Blue Moon with orange slices, Pacifico with lime slices, and Yuengling. Plenty of sodas, ritz bits peanut butter crackers, popcorn, mixed nuts, and cookies.

You can also go the frozen appetizer route and get some calamari and crab rangoon tasties. Bob Sauce is easy to make for a tortilla chip dip (Velvetta, rotel tomato can, ground beef, sour cream, and chopped green onion). Hope this helps.

fried mushrooms....take saltine crackers and reduce into a fine powder, make an egg mix, like your going to make french toast, slice mushrooms, heat pan to sizzle with butter, take mushrooms, dip in egg, roll in crackers and drop in pan and cook until golden brown:)

I LOVE little smokies! You can buy them in bulk @ Costco, or in the grocery. Just heat them up in a bottle of your favorite bbq sauce (anything mesquite flavored - especially the Jack Daniels Mesquite BBQ sauce). They are fantastic, serve in a big bowl with toothpicks!!B|
