NWFlyer 2 #26 January 28, 2006 QuoteI voted for long hair, but it's a lot of work. From crewcut to beyond the butt, do it the way you like. A beautiful woman is a beautiful woman, no matter what. Well, your wife is one of those lucky ones with *gorgeous* long hair that looks great on her. Lucky she's also so cool, otherwise I might have to resent her. SkydiveStMarys 0 #28 January 28, 2006 Your hair looks very cute. I like it. I can't weat short hair, I'm tall and most tall women don't look good with short hair. My hair is probably the longest its ever been, past the middle of my back. I never really had short hair. I like the options when it comes to how I want to wear it, though living in the South during the summer its almost always in a pony tail, I also tend to live at the beach during the summer so it just works out that a pony tail is the best bet. But in the winter I always wear it down. BobbiA miracle is not defined by an event. A miracle is defined by gratitude.

SkydiveStMarys 0 #30 January 28, 2006 I'm talking about a "pixie cut". I have a long neck and short hair cuts tend to accentuate that feature. But your hair cut isn't super short, I have had my hair that length before. OBTW...I'm 6' 1" 1/2 BobbiA miracle is not defined by an event. A miracle is defined by gratitude. ltdiver 3 #35 January 28, 2006 I'm also 5'10" tall and have battled with this question of short vs longish hair before. I tried very short (not quite pixie, but close) and although it was easy to shape and manage it made me look....well....rather boyish. So I abandoned that one. I tried to grow my hair long, on several different occasions. It never got passed my shoulders before becoming too thin. Much as I'd like to try long hair, I'm not blessed with being able to do that (and yes, I trimmed it every 4-6 weeks to try and keep it 'healthy', but that didn't seem to help). So, seems that I'm stuck with above shoulder-length hair. I've been told that it takes me too long to get ready in the morning, but I can't seem to get away from doing some kind of styling. If I leave it straight, it just looks (IMHO) like a lamp shade hanging down. My hair is very fine and straight. No curl or wave at all to it. I also have a long, thin face, so can't get away with just letting the hair go. Sigh. I'm bored and don't know where to go with this.... ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
NWFlyer 2 #36 January 28, 2006 Hmmm... I like short hair on you. What about maybe longer bangs, or letting it go a little longer so you can play around with layers a bit? Ask your stylist for ideas (and if you don't have one you like/trust, ask someone whose hair you love where she gets her hair done). It might require a little of that painful in-between period of growing out some or all of your hair just a tiny bit, but you might get more flexibility (which sounds like maybe what you're craving right now). Is this turning into a women's forum post? Where's some guy to talk about grabbing hair again so we can bring it back to Bonfire standards?

SkydiveStMarys 0 #40 January 28, 2006 I wash my hair every other day, the days that I do wash it, it takes me 20-25 mins to dry it, thats with allowing it to air dry for a little while. I could let it go and just let it air dry but that would take half the morning, plus then it has a wave to it and since the style is, this week anyway, straight, I opt to blow it out. I have to plan my schedule accordingly.BUT, I do enjoy my hair being long and since I don't have a lot of gray, yet anyway, I will keep it at that length. BobbiA miracle is not defined by an event. GTAVercetti 0 #41 January 28, 2006 I think it all depends on the girl. Short hair can look really great on some girls and absolutely hideous on others. One thing I have found though, is that long hair seems to work for way more girls than short hair does. And its kind of the opposite for guys. Nearly every guy I have seen with short hair looks fine. But there are less that can pull of the long hair look. Once again, it all depends on the girl. I don't have a general preference; I just have to go on a case by case basis. kirrz 0 #42 January 29, 2006 On a guy.. long-ish hair is so sexy! It doesn't have to be Johnny Depp long but even hair that has some length to it and can have the messy look is so hot compared to the number 1 or 2 cut. As for the amount of time girls spend on their hair - I have long hair (mid-back) and I haven't touched a hairdryer or used any styling products in at least 2 years. There are girls who have the pixie look that spend heaps of time infront of the mirror with gel trying to get the spikyness perfect. So I think maintenance time just depends on the girl, not the length of her hair.
SkydiveStMarys 0 #43 January 29, 2006 "So I think maintenance time just depends on the girl, not the length of her hair." I totally agree. Thats one of the reason that I wash my hair every other day, the time it takes to straighten it can be time consuming, but I enjoy the look. Summer time is different, because I surf and do the beach thing daily, I just let it air dry or braid it. Bobbi BobbiA miracle is not defined by an event. A miracle is defined by gratitude. Michele 1 #47 January 29, 2006 I recently had the opportunity to shoot some self portraiture stuff. In one, I am pulling a turtleneck down, and it's caught my hair and made it "short." I took one look at that, and realized that short is NOT a good look on me...not at all. I look downright scary with short hair (at least in that shot...which is good enough for me). So I'll stick with my to my very thick, waist-length long hair...it just looks better. I don't straighten it; just shower and a good, quality shampoo and conditioner, and I'm good to go...clip it up, leave it down, pony tail/braid...but it's gonna stay long. Thats one of my major issuses with short vs long hair. Long hair has many more options and it you get a short hair cut, you really do need to go back every 6 to 8 weeks for a touch up cut, I'm just not into that. PLFXpert 0 #50 January 29, 2006 I joke with my friends they will see me at the BINGO tables when I'm 80 years old with my same long hairstyle (if you call long & straight a style). I've tried short cuts several times---all were pains in the ass (required some sort of styling) and none looked good--imo. I used to see an older woman jogging all the time when I was little. I remember her b/c, not only was she fit and running at her age, but she always had this long, silky, sparkling gray-white ponytail---and I always admired her. God-willing, that will be me, too, 50 years from nowPaint me in a corner, but my color comes back.
