MakeItHappen 15 #1 February 1, 2006 Anyone ever use CarFax.com to run a check on a used vehicle? Are there other alternatives? I have been given the 'opportunity' to replace my truck with something else. I really have no option in this. .. marks 0 #2 February 1, 2006 carfax works. but not all damage has to be reported. but most major stuff will show up, but that doesn't mean it will. all in all, it is a great tool. your better off using it as that and screening out the ones you don't want. the ones you do, take to a trusted "MASTER" technician and have them look it over with there own eyes. a trained eye can catch just about anything. sundevil777 102 #3 February 1, 2006 I had the dealer do it for the vehicle I was buying. It was free for me, but I would pay to do it if buying from a private party.People are sick and tired of being told that ordinary and decent people are fed up in this country with being sick and tired. I’m certainly not, and I’m sick and tired of being told that I am
airtwardo 7 #4 February 1, 2006 I don't know exactly how it works...but from the 'other' side...A vehicle I sold a while back had been in a wreck requiring a whole new front end, a buyer checking it out ran a 'carfax' search and the accident & repairs weren't on it. The car was near new at the time, under warranty and was repaired by the dealer. So I don't know who enters the info into the data base, but in this case none was there. It also said that all 'recall' type issues had been addressed, which also wasn't true. ~ If you choke a Smurf, what color does it turn? ~
