VanillaSkyGirl 6 #1 February 1, 2006 I feel like light bulbs die quite easily and often, when I go to turn on lights. This happens to me everywhere, such as my home, other people's homes and various other places. The light will give a big flash, then burn dead in my face. This happens to me so often that it isn't even funny, anymore. It's downright odd! It's interesting that this has to do with energy. So, am I the only freak? Me too. No, I have come to the conclusion that it may NOT be the lightbulbs. It doesn't seem to happen when anyone else around me turns on the lights, just me. WTH? I wouldn't have mentioned it, if it hadn't begun happening like crazy last year and also this one.

misskriss 0 #10 February 1, 2006 It happens to me too and it freaks me out. I'm always the one to flip the switch that blows out the bulb or when I'm running under street lights one will without a doubt burn out when I run under it.

Frenchy68 0 #13 February 1, 2006 One trick I learned on one of my many travels when it comes to light bulbs: using a hammer and small nail, gently hammer the nail into the bulb, ever so softly. Then remove the nail. Using a microscopic funnel (you find them at any good midget appliance stores), slowly pour motor oil into the bulb,, about 3/4 full. Then soak the bulb in quick drying cement for 2 days. You'll be surprised how much lifetime it adds to the light bulb. I hope this was useful. Let me know how it goes. BillyVance 35 #18 February 1, 2006 Nothing to do with light bulbs, but my deaf pastor told me about the time he was in the hospital recovering from an operation to remove cancerous tissue. He had a TV in his room and watched it a lot, but every time he noticed a beautiful nurse pass by or enter his room, the TV went kaput! No, I'm serious! They went through 4 or 5 TVs before they decided to give him a male nurse. I know this is probably not pc, but I cannot stand the energy efficient bulbs. They do not seem as bright as the incandescent ones. They also make your skin look jaundiced. Maybe I've tried the wrong brand. Chris _________________________________________ Chris

ChrisL 2 #23 February 1, 2006 Yup. Happens to me all the time. I buy lightbulbs by the case. Sometimes they burn out just from me looking at them. I glance over and ...pop! Used to think it was faulty wiring in my house, but it happens no matter where I am, not just at my house (of which I've had several. They say that just the act of observing something changes it. In our case I think focusing our attention on it screws them up somehow. I'm only glad that its just lightbulbs __ My mighty steed
