mailin 0 #31 February 2, 2006 QuoteThere is NO WAY vinyl 'sounds' better than digital. Vinyl has limited dynamic and frequency range plus you cannot eliminate the noise of the needle running through the groove. I do have many records but give me a CD any day. Then you are missing the point. Try listening to Miles Davis - Kind of Blue, first on vinyl and then 'digital'. Hell, I even have it in surround sound (5.1), and I'll still take vinyl. *sigh* Don't let the sound be wasted, really really listen. lawrocket 3 #40 February 2, 2006 My favotire vinyl? This is interesting. I may be a luddite because I still prefer vinyl to CDs. Records were far more personal. The amazing cover art for albums isn't seen on CD's. Santana's "Ambraxis," Cream's "Disraeli Gears," Zeppelin's "Houses of the Holy" and even the spinning wheel on Led Zeppelin III are now just small pieces of paper. Also, each record was different and sounded different. You could always tell when the record you were listening to wasn't yours. It was a different time. Now, to the albums: It's hard to list my favorite album, but here are some choices: 1) Houses of the Holy, Zeppelin II and Phycial Graffiti by Zepellin; 2) Revolver, Abbey Road and The White Album by the Beatles; 3) Who's Next by the Who; 4) Muscle of Love by Alice Cooper; 5) Each a Peach by the Allman Brothers; 6) Frampton Comes Alive; 7) Breakfast in America by Supertramp; 8) Some Girls by the Rolling Stones; 9) Tres Hombres by ZZ Top; 10) Tapestry by Carol King My wife is hotter than your wife.
