You are right. Poor, poor million dollar football player, with the big house and brand new Cadillac, who never learned to speak correctly. And I never stopped to think how he is far too busy to educate himself now. Give me a break!

Or, maybe he's the only guy that's ever stumbled over his words in a moment of profound excitement. I've heard several of his interviews in pro and back when he was in college and he's generally a well-spoken, respectful gentleman.I am not the man. But the man knows my name...and he's worried

CheriAiello 0 #16 February 6, 2006 QuoteYes, I am sure that is it. I'm from the same county as Hines Ward, and have seen him give interviews since his high school days. I also attended the University of Georgia at the same time as he, and had many chances to see him speak and interact with others in both public and everyday settings. I have always been impressed with his composure and general demeanor. He also seems like a genuinely nice guy. The interview from last night was certainly not representative of what I've seen from him in the past, so I'm inclined to believe that 2fat2fly's assessment of the situation is correct. I know I've stumbled over my words in some situations--and this was a pretty exciting/high intensity situation.
Hambone 0 #17 February 6, 2006 I am not generally one to defend anyone that went to UGA. However this situation finds me in that profound position. It is a little strange. Generally i would be the first to say something like i guess thats all a UGA education is worth, or well have you considered the possibility that he was taught to speak that way at UGA?. But here i am not saying that. I know that when I get excited as I am sure that he was, generally I am not too concerned how things sound. I just speak from the heart and how ever it comes out thats what you get. I mean lets guve the guy a little credit, he had just played in the biggest game of his life, and was voted the Most Valuable Player in that game, then they gave him a car...I would probably give the media some ridiculous sound bite too. I mean if you had stuck a microphone in my face after my first skydive, I shutter to think what I might have said. I would say that if you are looking to make fun of someone Leave HINES Ward alone. He didn't do anything to you, and if you are picking at him soley because he plays for Pit. and you feel like they shouldn't have won. Well thats another story all together. Stay Classy SeattleYeah...You need to grow up. -Skymama
