ACMESkydiver 0 #27 February 7, 2006 QuoteDr. Daniels usually has a good remedy for neck pain. Or any other pain you have as well. Dude don't I know it...I was partaking in the good doctor's remedy just a few days ago. ~Jaye Do not believe that possibly you can escape the reward of your action. skybytch 273 #29 February 7, 2006 Quote Well, the neurosurgeon I saw Thursday suggested "surgery". Which is why I haven't been to a doctor about mine. Yet. Spine surgery sucks; mine's gonna have to get a whole lot worse before I go that route... again. I figure as long as it doesn't hurt in freefall, I'm still alright. I'm curious. Those who have neck issues - where is your pain? Mine is mostly in my right shoulder with a little at the base of the neck on the right side. I get the tingles in both arms and hands and occasionally up the back of my head too.
ACMESkydiver 0 #30 February 7, 2006 Quotealready down the Oxycodone & naprosyn route to no avail. Dude I'm not sure you're supposed to take those together. Call your pharmacist to confirm of course, but it's either or, not both...at least those were my latest orders. I have had Rx's for Oxycodone, Hydrocodone, and Naproxen all three...Naproxen is like amped up Aleve for swelling, and mild to moderate pain. Oxycodone is for severe pain. I'm not a doc or a pharmacist...you may be on one for swelling and the other for pain...come to think of it, that may have been the case for me after I got out of surgery, but I really can't remember clearly (is it any wonder why?!? ) but just please double check with your pharmacist before taking both together again. Docs sometimes just forget to tell you how they intend for you to use the Rx's they give you. Mine did, and I almost ended up taking all of my prescrips together, when it was intended to be either or. I am not saying they are dangerous together, but you could be possibly putting too much of one thing in your system at a time. -Just call Rite Aid pharmacy and double check for yourself and the lil' mommy in me will feel a bunch better. ~Jaye Do not believe that possibly you can escape the reward of your action. I get the tingles in both arms and hands and occasionally up the back of my head too. That could be a strained trapezius...I get it from constantly reading books in my lap, head-down. Computer work makes that hurt like a sonofagun too. The greatest pain I have is halfway up my neck on the right side & also right at the base of my skull. -It makes perfect sense; I was turned all the way around in my seat to the right to check the guy behind me when I was rear-ended. That kind of jolt (even though it was STUPIDLY minor; I've landed harder than that under canopy ) in that &$*%'d up of a body position tends to yank things around...~Jaye Do not believe that possibly you can escape the reward of your action. Nightingale 0 #32 February 7, 2006 Many massage therapists (and sometimes chiros) sell a product called BioFreeze. I've found it works much better than tiger balm in many cases. You can read about it at www.biofreeze.com.

Broke 0 #35 February 7, 2006 QuoteTry those heat packs that have some type of disks in them that start to heat up when you open the package. They make them specifically for different parts of the body - neck, back, shoulder. The heat is great and lasts about 12 hours. I also can't say enough about the foam contour pillows. A $30.00 investment that works miracles for me. Feel better. Faom contour pillows are awesome. I went for like a week straigh with incresing neck pain. Then I bought one of those, and after a couple of nights it was all better. I haven't had pain like that for a while. Also as GFD said Tiger Balm ROCKS!Divot your source for all things Hillbilly. Nightingale 0 #38 February 8, 2006 No prob. When you get it, use a little bit only, and wait about five minutes, then add more if you need to. It takes some time to start soaking into your skin, and if you use too much, it might be too uncomfortable. Like tiger balm, you've got to find your tolerance. My other recommendation is Tiger Liniment. It's like extra strength tiger balm, only a bit stronger and because it's an oil it soaks in rather than staying on the surface and getting everything sticky. http://www.amazon.com/gp/search.html/ref=br_ss_hs/104-0667700-2559956?platform=gurupa&url=node%3D3760931&keywords=tiger+liniment&Go.x=0&Go.y=0&Go=Go I have been known to drive two hours to get all the way to china town to buy this because that's the nearrest store that carries it. If I've got a really bad stiff or sore muscle, I'll use this, and if I've got something that I know is going to be sore (for example, the arches of my feet after two hours of Irish dance) I'll use biofreeze before bed. Tiger liniment is really good when you've got stiff muscles you weren't expecting, but biofreeze is much better at preventing aches to begin with, or to deal with inflamation or more chronic pain.
