Elisha 1 #1 February 9, 2006 So what is it? I have a desk lamp that is probably at least 15 years old. I think it may have the original bulb in it, which is showing considerable blackness on the ends - especially one side. I've noticed recently that it tends to shutoff by itself, with only staying on several minutes at a time starting yesterday. I guess it is time to go to Home Depot....or should I go somewhere else? champu 1 #3 February 9, 2006 QuoteSo what is it? Generally at least 8,000 hours, but most qualitiy bulbs last closer to twice that. Any hardware store will prolly have them. And bring your old bulb with you, they should be able to recycle it.
