PLFXpert 0 #12 February 9, 2006 Funny I should see this today---I was just thinking I have something to look forward to tonight... Thursdays are our sushi night. ALWAYS. I LOVE sushi. Over the years, I think I've tried everything. I prefer pieces and my hunny prefers both pieces and rolls. But, I can NEVER pass up a spicy tuna roll. Mmmmmm. I have to say though, our local beaches sushi stop has RUINED me on all other sushi. This guy is as authentic as they come. And all the fish is bought daily from the local fresh seafood mart. I'm telling you, it tastes SO MUCH BETTER than anything I've had anywhere else. A friend once said she didn't understand how we could spend so much on "sushi night and dinner out" but I said, "You spend a lot of money on cigarettes and McD lunches." Everyone has their thing---and sushi is SO my thingPaint me in a corner, but my color comes back.

lauras 0 #14 February 9, 2006 I think rolls are great for lunch, but I'm a sashimi/nigiri gal myself! I'm not as bad as my brother, The Sushi Nazi (tm). He'll have the occassional handroll, but otherwise, they're just yucky chunks rolled up in some seaweed. Total snob. The Sushi Nazi's Method (tm): You must start off with milder flavored fish (toro, amaebi, etc), building up to the oiler/stronger (saba, uni, etc.) and then finish with the cooked (unagi, hamachi collar, etc). I like to finish with the milds again if there's room, but that's just me.

hexadecimal 0 #18 February 9, 2006 Sushi is definitely good. Not personally a huge fan of rolls, though. Mostly I just stick to sashimi.
