NWFlyer 2 #2 February 10, 2006 Hell no... I've had all kinds of scary stuff in my dreams. IanHarrop 43 #4 February 10, 2006 The only thing you can do to avoid death is to sell your gear to me really, really cheap. Maybe just give it to me to be really sure. I'll cover shipping! Miami 0 #6 February 10, 2006 I had one where I was on an 8-way...we had just built a round, everyone turned to track, and *boom*...went in. We then all proceeded to get up and brush ourselves off, hoping the dzo didn't see us cause we would all surely get grounded for going in. That one was a long time ago...wish I still had skydiving dreams, they were pretty entertaining.Miami
waltappel 1 #7 February 10, 2006 No worries. I've had several dreams where I woke up just as I was going in. At least once, I jumped that very day! No problems. In case it doesn't work out that well for you, though, can I have your gear? Walt
caress 0 #8 February 10, 2006 most would say if it makes you feel better-redo it. I say if you think for one minute that you missed something go back and recheck. it certainly will take time but rather time than a life. I've learned.... That being kind is more important than being right.
jasonRose 0 #9 February 10, 2006 Man, I woke up right when I glanced at my altimeter reading zero, it seemed like I was fighting my mal for 5 minutes. I get fucking chills just thinking about it. NWFlyer 2 #10 February 10, 2006 QuoteQuoteHell no... I've had all kinds of scary stuff in my dreams. Did I ever tell you about the one with all the Skyvans falling out of the sky? Ummmm... That would suck!! This was right before I went to the Holiday Boogie at Eloy. It was a formation load, and only the (full) Skyvans fell out of the sky. Just dropped to the earth, like they had no wings any more. There was (of course) mass chaos as we tried to figure out who was on the Skyvan loads. Of course, I jumped all Skyvan loads (somehow didn't make it on an Otter) that week. None of them dropped out of the sky.

The closest I've ever had to a bad skydiving dream come true was when I had been off of student status not all that long. There was a student named Frank, who the instructors were worried about. He was a really nice guy, but was way worse that *I* was as a student, and that's saying something. Anyway, I had a dream where I watched him going in under a malfunctioned round main canopy. I had seen the canopy many times around the DZ but never jumped it personally. So I was watching him streamering in and he disappeared behind a hangar as I watched. That day Frank jumped the canopy and it pretty much exploded. He handled the malfunction ok but never jumped again after that. The DZ gave the canopy to me and I had it on my bedroom ceiling and walls for a long time. Years later I gave it to a German friend to decorate his pub with--a DZ-themed pub called, appropriately enough, the drop zone pub. Walt

Almost happened in LP a few years back ... Skyvan stalled on a formation load (64 way or something like that). Video is VERY interesting! Glad I declined that jump! cloudseeker2001 0 #23 February 11, 2006 I have the most insane dreams of anyone I have ever known. Car and plane crashes, war, fighting to the death, skydiving related, people chasing me, loved ones in distress or of me in a field of sunflowers trying to get the perfect picture-all kinds! I used to let them bother me, but not anymore. I am reading about Alpine climbing and two nights ago I had a dream that I was with the group of climbers that found Mallory's body on Everest!
