Sure what they accomplish MIGHT give us things and ways that we don't already have but in the process of doing it he is making his investment back tenfold because of having Virgin Atlantic, Virgin Mobile, yada yada all over the things he does this with. What did him flying around the world in a balloon teach us? Last I checked it had already been done....a few times. What did this flight teach us that we didn't already know? That someone can survive on milkshakes? That one person can stay awake for 3 days? The "spaceship" plane still costs $20 million to build which makes it affordable to less than 8 million (only 8.3 million people have a net worth of $1,000,000 or more) in the world. It is not making space travel that much more affordable for people.
