happythoughts 0 #55 February 14, 2006 QuoteMy husband and I agreed to not spend any money on each other for V-Day This is secret girl-code for, "You mean everything in the world to me and I will love you no matter what..." ("However, if he doesn't get me anything, then he is an insensitive bonehead who sleeps on the couch because I can't brag to my girlfriends about the gift that proves he adores me." ) Here is the gift that keeps on giving... Orchid 0 #56 February 14, 2006 If you can cook.........cook him dinner, with nice candle light settings.......it's more personal....private.....relax......and he'll appreciates it! Traffic & waiting....crowds.....for dinner......honestly, that just frustrates me more. The most you'll spend is probably on a nice bottle of wine that the 2 of you can enjoy!"Love is doing small things with great love." moodyskydiver 0 #57 February 14, 2006 I'm kinda in the same situation. My husband and I hadn't made any plans for V-day and as far as I understood, we weren't going to. Instead he decided to do something on the 10th which is a special day between us. He made me hunt all over the house for little things he'd hidden...a beautifully sweet card, poetry (written by him),a pretty coffee mug,LOTS of chocolate, 2 different stuffed animals and the finale...a gorgeous floor-length silk robe in my favorite colors with the most beautiful Chinese dragons embroidered across all of the back and front.Speechless! Now I feel like a shit b/c I haven't gotten him a thing, have no clue what to get him and know that every store in town has been/will be chaos for V-day.Ack! "...just an earthbound misfit, I."
