Well, 747 cruise is about 560 mph... the airbus is likely the same... so figure about 1100+mph (not knots)

Which, if you think about it, is NOT a lot of room, but is the required seperation. (Although my failing memory somehow had it that if it was below something like 12k or 15k seperation was supposed to be 1k and above that it was supposed to be 2k).

Still, imagine being the guys in the lower cockpit... holy cow! seeing that jumbo coming at you at over 1000 miles per hour!!!! What a rush!!!
