The best gift I ever received on Valentine's Day were SIMMs for my Mac. Nonsense gifts just don't cut it for me. If you're paying attention, you'll know what it is I'd really like to have, and you won't try to buy me off with flowers, candy, jewelry. A genuine expression of feeling goes a lot further than tangible gifts.

And the giving of a gift shouldn't have to wait for a particular day anyway. There's nothing quite like something spontaneous and truly unexpected to brighten someone's day.

This really belongs in the other thread, because it's topical to what we were talking about, but what the heck. I'm too lazy to move it, and this thread is in need of a semi-hijack, you jaded thing.
