jjiimmyyt 0 #1 February 15, 2006 So on the back of World Team we put out a press release to grab some publicity. The local radio station rangup looking for an interview and with the DZO away I had to step up and do my first ever interview. I did not release quite how crap I am at talking, I thought I was quite eloquent normally. If you want to see how many times I can say ummm in 1min 30 secs listen to http://channel103.com on Saturday at 1430 UK time. It'll be funny or tragic, quite possibly both. On a related note does anyone have experience of recording of tandem students during the jump? I've an (un)original idea to garner more exposure... "This isn't an iron lung, people. SpeedRacer 1 #2 February 15, 2006 You need to join Toastmasters. They will cure you of the "Ummmm" or "and uhhhh..." "you know" habit pretty damn quick. They actually COUNT how many times you say it!!. Pretty soon you learn that when you can't think what to say next you should just STFU until you've thought what to say. Then it just seems like a slight pause & no one notices. Speed Racer --------------------------------------------------
jjiimmyyt 0 #3 February 15, 2006 Sounds like "Just a minute" on Radio 4 here in the UK. I'm sure with practice it'll come. I'm used to public speaking through various jobs I've done,it was just a bit different doing it over the phone with 10 mins notice and someone else setting the agenda.
