Do you have a TV in your car?

Recommended Posts

Wondering what the rest of the country/world is like? In So. Cal, seems like EVERYONE has these in their cars. Is very distracting to me but at least when I'm stuck in bumper to bumper traffic (which is pretty much ALWAYS) I can watch TV. :S

[rant]I think most people who have kids overuse them. I see them on inside vans all the time in the city. They're fine for long car trips, but for just running around town I think they should be turned off. Some of the best conversations I have with my kids are in the car and at dinner time. A lot of families are missing out on both of these opportunities to really find out things about their children. They are a captive audience stuck in the car with you, turn off the friggin' tv and talk! [/rant]

I will NOT have you bad mouth TV. Not after all the effort it put into raising me and my sister. sniff (mostly Simpson's quoting here)

(it was either this or responding to the original post with "No, do you have a bicycle in your trunk?" But that might be too obscure for many.)

I have enough trouble dividing my attention between driving and smoking, drinking, eating with chopsticks, text messaging, looking for another CD, and plucking ear and nose hairs. Throwing a tv into the mix might have me bordering on dangerous. :D

no. i need as few distractions as possible. driving in houston is crazy. aside from having to watch for the latest construction lane reconfigurations you have to be on the look out for the people not paying attention because they're on thier cell phones. then you've got the rice burners who weave in and out of traffic at 90 while most of the other cars are already going 75. it's wild fun on the freeways of h-town.

i think alot of mini vans are coming with tvs as a marketing tool.

but the funniset thing with tvs in cars is when there's a custom audio visual install with multiple giant speakers and then there's all these little 7 inch tv screens. i just don't get it. if you're going to have big sound, why not have a big screen. cheers
