NWFlyer 2 #39 February 4, 2006 True, I don't remember Saturday Night from when it was originally popular, but I was alive and kicking and starting to listen to music when it came out in 1976, so I'm probalby not as young as you think I am. Okay, kids, I can't entertain you any more ... my flight is actually leaving! Can I get a hallelujah and amen! See all y'all in Florida tomorrow. Samurai136 0 #45 February 4, 2006 QuoteQuoteWell, at least they got an education of sorts on what to expect when they run into the next skydiver's rig that goes thru the x-ray machine... That's what I figured. Logan is the first airport where anyone's even blinked an eye (I've flown out of Seattle, Charlotte, Phoenix, SFO, and Oakland with it). Last week they opened my bag and swabbed it down, but all it took was one screener asking her colleague "Hey, are parachutes okay?" to get me through. Considering that the aircraft that were flown into the Twin Towers originated from Logan International, it's not terribly suprising for TSA security to be a little over zealous."Buttons aren't toys." - Trillian Ken
gravitational 0 #46 February 4, 2006 Quoteand im stuck at work..... Anyone else stuck working too Course it is slow and quiet, and i hope it stays that way...for the next 5 hours.... I was stuck in first class on a plane trying to get home so technically I was still working (e.g. billable to the client) even though the flight attendant was shoving alcohol in my face. Yup, I understand they're under a lot of pressure at Logan in particular. Honestly, I don't blame the folks, they were just doing their jobs, and it really was something they'd never seen before. I did get a little frustrated with the supervisor - he didn't seem to really want to read the TSA letter or the Vigil paperwork, and I was concerned he was just going to say "no" without really understanding what he was looking at. I do my best to be patient and courteous when I'm going through security. I travel a lot and it gets me absolutely nowhere any faster to be a bitch about things, and in the wrong circumstance, could get me into more hassle and trouble than I need. robr 0 #49 February 16, 2006 Just wanted to relate that the first time I flew through Logan with my rig, I had to go through all those steps too. More recent trips through Logan, I haven't had nearly as much fuss (going out both United and American, so terminals B and C). Of other major airports, SFO and LAX have both been very smooth to go through. Btw, turned out when I went through Logan the first time, one of the screeners had done an AFF level 1 at Pepperell years back, which he related after all the swabbing was done.
