PLFXpert 0 #1 February 17, 2006 That's hilarious. The best part? No words. Just sounds like "Hooooooooooraaah!" The second best part would be the horrible customes. And third would be watching them bounce around on ice. I love it!Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.
simplyputsi 0 #2 February 17, 2006 My first impression when I saw them was WTF??????? I don't know where they got the idea cause I don't believe I've seen that anywhere in the states.Skymama's #2 stalker -
sundevil777 102 #3 February 17, 2006 Where did you see them? What event?People are sick and tired of being told that ordinary and decent people are fed up in this country with being sick and tired. I’m certainly not, and I’m sick and tired of being told that I am
PLFXpert 0 #4 February 17, 2006 Oh, I haven't been watching the Olympics. Ha! BOR-ING! I saw them on the Today show. I think the segment took place at a hockey game. I was in the "circle of friends" that included the cheerleaders in high school--by default. I have never understood this concept, however, but find it highly entertaining. Perhaps that's the idea---I LOVE before they go to break during televised college & pro football games when they close up on the cheerleader "Gooooo Team. Let's go team. Come On! Let's go!" Wooooo!" It always makes me laugh. I love cheerleaders Edit: Need to add a hyphen in "BORING". It's better that wayPaint me in a corner, but my color comes back. SkydiveStMarys 0 #5 February 17, 2006 Believe it or not...alot of hockey teams now have "cheerleaders". When I took my kids to a game and the cheerleaders came out to do their "thing", I could not believe it! I rolled my eyes and decided now was a good time to pee and get another beer! PLFXpert 0 #6 February 17, 2006 Oh you can't pee then! That's the best part! Seriously hilarious! Reminds me of Olympia Dukakis in Steel Magnolias when Claree says, "If you don't have anything nice to say about somebody, come sit by me" Love her in that movie! I love Weeza, too. What a great movie! <--hijacking her own threadPaint me in a corner, but my color comes back.

ccowden 0 #12 February 17, 2006 There are quite a few NHL teams who now have "Ice Girls" who act as chearleaders in some instances but also do things like throw shirts into the stands, lead crowd cheers, promotions and sweep the ice during TV timeouts and such. But I am not aware of any NHL teams who have cheerleaders in the same sense as the girls at the Olympics we are talking about. I rather enjoy the presence of the Flyers Ice Girls at games. But they never stand in the aisles blocking the game though.
 Brains 2 #13 February 17, 2006 The blond to the left of center must be a swooper!! They don't have uniforms though, at least not coordinated with the team or anything. I tend to notice that these girls are always young looking as well. I'm sure you have to be 16 at least and some look just that.
