Lock, Stock...., Snatch, and even Layer Cake are very well acclaimed movies in the U.S. as well. I think Snatch was even given a special mention at the Oscars for excellence in filmmaking (I think). However, I think Trainspotting was better than all three of those movies (a little disturbing but still better) and it was even nominated for an Oscar here in the states.

So, anyway, even US ignorant Americans have an appreciation for UK movies ;)
