skydivingbreed 0 #1 February 3, 2008 I currently jump a Sabre2 190, and am about to demo a friend's 170. I have a Javelin BOC and he has a vector w/ pull out. My understand is that the main bag and pilot chute stay with the container. In addition, our container's are not compatible with each other's deployment mechanism. I have transfered his canopy to my main bag. Question: His pilot chute is 27", and mine is 30/31" (I measured with a carpenter's measuring tape). Is this too large of a PC for the the 170? ie - is it enough to induce a line dump or the equivalent of a car crash on opening? Or will it be within acceptable limits (ie not creating a safety hazard, though it might be uncomfortable.) I am planning on checking with a rigger at my DZ as well, but I wanted to get a heads up on what he might say as well as second opinion.
