RhondaLea 4 #1 February 15, 2006 One of the finest, kindest and most gifted young men I know is lying in a hospital bed right now, recovering from a paragliding accident. It’s going to be a long road back, but my own belief and fervent prayer is that he will return as good as new and continue to astound us all with his remarkable talent. One example of that talent is here. I watch this video every day because it gives me hope. In the meantime, he needs prayers, vibes, good thoughts, cards, letters, emails and, if you’ve got some to spare, money. Triax Productions has been good enough to set up a PayPal account for the Hecker family, and a link to that account, contact information, visiting information and email, is located here. Even if you’re not able to donate, please do not discount the value of encouraging words. My daughter is 21—the same age as Matt—and at a very dark time in her life, I asked skydivers to help her, and their cards and letters gave her hope to get her through. Please take the time to do what you can to speed him on his way back to us. Those who know and care for Matt will thank you for it. I thank you for it. rlIf you don't know where you're going, you should know where you came from. Gullah Proverb

base689 0 #3 February 15, 2006 Sent Matt an e-mail wishing him a speedy recovery. Thanks to Triax that arranged the facilities. It is really terrible whenever I hear that a brother (in this case, a very young one) gets seriously injured. I wish Matt a speedy and healthy recovery Take care, my friend All the bestStay safe out there Blue Skies and Soft Walls BASE #689 - base_689AT_NO_123_SPAMyahoo.com

RhondaLea 4 #10 February 23, 2006 Another update on Matt's condition. I laughed at his father's comment "Maybe they can teach him how to spell." Before I started corresponding with Matt, I thought he was none too bright because of his "interesting" spelling and sentence construction. (And I even know better, because extremely intelligent right-brained people are notorious for their poor spelling.) I was quickly disabused of my notions about Matt--he's one of the brightest guys I know--but his spelling will always...um...amaze me. http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=2092061#2092061 I'm just relieved he's making steady progress. If you have a chance to write some words of encouragement for him, please do. rlIf you don't know where you're going, you should know where you came from.
