SkydiveStMarys 0 #2 February 27, 2006 I'm so so sorry...I have been exactly where you are "at" now...so tough, but at the same time such a sweet memory...to be able to be with him at this very moment in time to be there to help him "let go". GogglesnTeeth 6 #4 February 27, 2006 VIBES!!!!!! My cat "Bob" is 12 now. A bit old, and cranky at times, but she has been a good friend for a long time. It will be hard to let go when the time comes. RhondaLea 4 #5 February 27, 2006 Dear Beth, My Maggie died when she was 17. She was born behind my refrigerator, so I was there at her birth. When she was dying, I laid her on my pillow, and I sat and talked to her and petted her for a very long time. It was a very quiet, very peaceful death. When you've had a kitty that many years...it's very hard to say goodbye. I'm very sorry. rlIf you don't know where you're going, you should know where you came from. SkydiveStMarys 0 #6 February 27, 2006 Also...my sister has a cat, he too is 17, his name is Teddy. I see him when I go for a visit to my sisters house every three to five months...I always make sure I give him a good scratch behind the ears each time I see him...I'm not so sure he'll be around much longer either. Cliche' I know but when it comes to animals its so true...it is better to have loved and lost, then to have never loved at all. Animals bring such joy to our lives that no other being could bring. loves2jump2 0 #8 February 27, 2006 I am so sorry to hear that about your kitty. I know that one day soon I will be going through the same thing with Oscar, I have had him for 20 years! He has been with me through everything. It is tough and I am sending you positive vibes. I agree with RL when you have had a pet that long it is hard to say goodbye. VanillaSkyGirl 6 #9 February 27, 2006 Oh, that's so very sad. I'm so sorry for the both of you, and I wish you and kitty peace. At least, he is with you right now, when he needs you the most. He can remain in your heart forever.
peacefuljeffrey 0 #10 February 27, 2006 My condolences. I know what you're going through. I had a cat from when I was in high school, and when she was almost 16 she got sick. She suffered a bit before she died, and it was hard to watch her go through that. On the other hand, my sister has a cat that's over 20! Go, be with him, comfort and love him. And be sure to always remember him after he's gone. Peace. --Jeffrey "With tha thoughts of a militant mind... Hard line, hard line after hard line!" flygirl1 0 #11 February 27, 2006 I'm so sorry. I have a 19 year old cat with diabetes that I know is getting close to the end. He still eats and drinks normally and is full of energy but, his arthritis is starting to bother him and he has a hard time getting up on my bed even though I got little stairs for him. In the last couple years he has developed this bad habit of peeing all over the house. We have to line all the ground along the walls with piddle pads cause he can't make it to his box any more. Not so good for dinner parties or having company over but, he's worth it. I don't know how much more time he has left but, for the moment he seems happy so I will try to make what time he has enjoyable for him.Fly like a girl

Michele 1 #24 February 27, 2006 Oh, Beth. What you're going to do for him now is what he's done for you for years; all the love he's given you will come back to him now, with your touch, your hands, your voice, your scent. You will help him start the journey, and he will be there to greet you once it's your turn to start that...until then, he will live in your heart, and love you again, forever and always, just curled up in your soul, loving you there. I've been where you are...and I know it's so terribly tough. But also know that love is the one thing that's indestructable...and you will always have his. The Rainbow Bridge Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies that has been especially close to some- one here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water, and sunshine and our friends are warm and comfortable. All the animals who have been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind. They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; his eager body begins to quiver. Suddenly, he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster. You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart. author: unknown Rest easy, and know you will be joined again.
