How could anyone not love her?

Recommended Posts

Finally I am posting a picture of the cat my girlfriend and I took in as a stray.

She's a little hellion, even with an atrophied right forepaw, but soooo sweet when she cuddles in bed. We can tell the difference between her and Feather because when Wee comes running, she makes a ta-domp ta-domp ta-domp sound... :D

They make me sneeze, too. Probably not as much, though.

But, I've had a house full of animals-rescued since I was 4;) Right now I have two kitties & a doggie, one big, fluffy, super-soft black, white & gold tiger striped cat named Sabre (Say-ber, who is my baby), one short-haird white w/ gold/grey on top crazy cat named Zoe', and one Labradeagle named Cruzer:P

I don't mind taking a pill when I need one. But, I try to build my immunity.

Jeff, the kitty is GORGEOUS!

Strays are the best. I adopted one that had just had his bottom lip ripped down from a fight with another stray. The vet told me to put him to sleep because he would never be able to eat properly. It took about two weeks of making special kitty food and hand feeding but he eventually adapted. When he healed he always looked like the Cheshire cat from Alice in Wonderland, his bottom lip made him look as if he was grinning from ear to ear.

Good job going to the shelter. I hate when people buy from a breeder when so many animals need a home.

EXACTLY! At dog park, thankfully, most of the dogs are muts, which I personally think are far cuter than pure breds. But, it seriously irks me hearing someone go on and on about their "pure bred" and what they payed and how far they had to drive for it, blah, blah, blah>:(

I'm jealous that he got such an expensive breed as a stray!! Lucky!

Yeah, a seal point Siamese is a truly beautiful cat. Plus they're short-haired and, if you're into home decorating type stuff, they go with any decor and would look especially good in really elegant surroundings.

My cat Zoe had apparently been hit by a car when I found her stunned, sitting in the middle of a dimly-lit street. I was never able to find the owner even though I put a fair amount of effort into it.

These days she doesn't seem to miss her old home much, if indeed she had one. She's figured out that she pretty much owns the place and owns me too.

I think its great when people choose to go to the pound or humaine society....HOWEVER... I dont frown at women who choose to get pregnant over adopting so I wouldnt get mad at someone for wanting a specfic animal and paying for it as opposed to adopting one.

Personally I am not a huge fan of domesticated animals anyways... I much prefer animals like snakes, spiders and lizards... Or a monkey, I hear as a skydiver we are supposed to want a monkey...

Plus they make me sneeze.. achoooo

Also because cats are psychotic, at least every cat I've owned. One minute you are petting them and they are purring, the next minute they are attacking you for no reason... And because she isn't my dog Leela, still a good looking cat, specially for a stray.

Atrophied paw? Very cool for you to choose it even thought it is not in perfect condition.

If anyone can tell me what sort of mutt my siamesish looking cat might be that would be cool.
People are sick and tired of being told that ordinary and decent people are fed up in this country with being sick and tired. I’m certainly not, and I’m sick and tired of being told that I am

I love ya, lisamarie, but SOOOOO not the same thing:P

And for the record, despite that if I personally would adopt over having my own child, I don't frown on other women who choose pregnancy either;):D

I love you to, mostly cause you are sexy as hell and talk about sex as much as I think of it, BUT yes it is the same thing, most people think of their pets as their babies... Some prefer specfic breeds... some people choose specfic also... I choose to breed my own kids, and my own pets... I just didnt have to work as hard to get the pets :S:|:D

Depends on the monkey... some people eat monkeys, thats kinda gross in my opinion... speaking of that, there is a really good/sad book called "Eating Apes" its about Bush-meat and what it has done to the populations of great apes. Great apes should never be pets but lesser apes well shouldnt either but I still want a monkey.

BTW I am soooo hyper, I had completley stopped caffiene except for one cup of coffee a morning, but today I have had a whole pot of coffee and my mind is going a mile a minute... Can ya tell ? lol

Oh dear, WARNING: SOAP BOX:P

Pure breds come from breeders who routinely breed dogs for pure breds and each litter typically has several "kids" (Yes, I view my animals as children, as well). This is not at all like a women getting pregnant...she certainly isn't in "the business of getting pregnant" over and over again and selling off her babies:S

Secondly, most breeders run puppy mills and nearly EVERY pet store is supplied by these puppy mills. Actually, the Amish are the biggest puppy mill proprietors of them all.

By purchasing a pure bred or from a pet store, you are probably supporting puppy mills. I'm going to stop here and assume you understand exactly what a puppy mill is and how it operates---ie: how it treats its "commodity">:([:/]

/SOAP BOX NOW.

Pllllllleeeeease, for the love of God, don't make me go there again. I try SO HARD not to be the red paint & flour throwing PETA member that I am;):P

And in pursuit of changing the topic for my preferred subject....

You're my bag too baby, yea! ;)

I am certainly against puppy mills and animal cruelty. However, that statement is NOT always true. Not every pure bred came from a puppy mill and not every pet store gets their animals from puppy mills. You might say, you are possibly supporting puppy mills and should do some research and ask some questions before purchasing that animal.

Alright I will agree with that. I have a purebred boxer (not trying to brag, I just enjoy boxers and I got her cheap anyway) and I looked for over a year before I decided on her because I did NOT want to support someone who was breeding their dogs purely for profit. I never purchase animals from pet shops for that reason. My dog will have a litter one day, for her health as it reduces the risk of cancer, they will be purebred just to keep the line going. They will also be sold at just enough to cover the cost of having the litter, as my dog was.

I should also add for those who will inevitably make a comment or two:

I am against animal cruelty/mistreatment NOT the food chain.

I never eat pig. I rarely eat cow or chicken, but I DO eat it.

<----LOVES buffalo wings and a juicy burger from time to time:P

I eat wild-caught fish regularly. I live at the beach in Florida so wild-caught is very easily accessable. Our FAVORITE local sushi joint buys the best wild caught from the seafood store just around the corner. And even Publix here has 75% local (or regional) wild-caught varieties.

I also own a couple leather jackets & bags. But overall, I stick to jacquard fabric bags---most great couture designer offer their same bag in an all leather version and a mostly jacquard (or other) logo-fabric version;)

Shoes, well. Most of them are leather or leather-soled.

I do not own any skins other than cow, nor ANY furs. And in the dead of winter, I always sport my "Mean People Wear Fur" T;)

Oh, and there are NO name brand household products in the house, as you will not find any products tested (or whose parent company tests) on animals. At first that was a difficult adjustment, but then I e-mailed PETA regarding all the "Kirkland Signature" brand household products at Costco stating "Not tested on animals" and PETA said, while they can't approve the brand for their "OK" list due to Kirkland also selling meats, all the household products are fine and Kirkland does not in any way for anything test on animals. Whew! That made it a whole lot easier.:P

And there you have it;)
