ACMESkydiver 0 #1 March 1, 2006 If you think about it, you take just about any other living creature and drop it in the middle of a forest, or ocean, or whatever natural environment it is indigenous to, and it will make it's way and survive just fine. HUMANS, on the other hand, are completely dependent upon each other for basic necessities. We are so lame that we have to have survival books should we suddenly find ourselves without bricklayers, and farmers, and doctors, and mechanics, and computer technicians, and plastics molders, and clothing weavers, and shit like that. We are the only creature I can think of that can't do everything the rest of our species can. Uh, weird, huh? ~Jaye Do not believe that possibly you can escape the reward of your action. It's better to work with each other so that everyone can have a better lifestyle, than to be at war with other tribes fighting over the same, limited resources. Feel free to move to the Amazon rainforest and live with the Jibaro tribe, if you hate modern life so much. I think you would be back within a month. Croc 0 #16 March 1, 2006 Yes humans are pathetic. As Arthur Clarke pointed out, if there are any gods in charge of the human race, they can't be very important gods."Here's a good specimen of my own wisdom. Something is so, except when it isn't so." Charles Fort, commenting on the many contradictions of astronomy
karenmeal 0 #17 March 1, 2006 Try dropping a crocodile or something into the environment that humans have created for themselves (of houses, refrigerators, cars, on-line bill pay, automatic check-out at the grocery store) and see how it does! I bet it would have trouble doing most human stuff. I think the difference is just that we have molded our own environment to suit us so much, and have adapted to it. (not so much evolved because its such a short time in the grand scheme of things since we became "civilized") "Life is a temporary victory over the causes which induce death." - Sylvester Graham
