Rude cell phone users

Recommended Posts

Tired of being forced to listen to some asshole's phone conversation? Go here and get the Society for HandHeld Hushing (aka SHHH) "Dear Cell Phone User" cards.

You may have already seen them, but I hadn't until tonight. I'm gonna start carrying these with me every place I go. :D

I have had them fire off with those stupid ringtones in a classroom, and often it's the same idiots. They are completely unaware that this is inapropriate. Some of these fucktards have actually answered their phone while I was speaking and carried on a conversation while I was teaching!!!!!! And when I react with rightious indignation they look at me with that "what did I do" look, like I am some scary irrational psyhopath

I pray for the day when the law allows us to shoot idiot cell-phone users.

Cheers,

Richards

I called a friend I haven't seen in a while the other day to tell him I was engaged. We talked for a few minutes then he says "hey, can I call you back later, I'm in a movie and people are getting mad at me." Then I hear him pull the phone away and say "yeahhhhhh, I knowww." to the people giving him crap.

He's a smart kid book wise, but sometimes he's not all there:S

I was in a movie theater a few months ago and some guy was holding a conversation on a cell phone while the movie was playing. This went on for 10 minutes! I asked hom to leave the theater and he mumbled something..something "bitch" to me. I am ordering those cards....and an RPG to go with it.;)

Last summer while I was in Europe, my boyfriend and I paid extra money to ride first class on the Chunnel. A woman sat down in a seat near us and talked loudly on her cell phone about a meeting she was going to. She kept using those long-winded motivational phrases that management often uses where they say a whole bunch about nothing! Everyone in her vacinity was completely annoyed, but no one wanted to be the person to say anything.

Finally, the woman behind us, a fine lady from Texas no less, stood up and gave the rude lady a piece of her mind. She still didn't get off the phone! It took 3 porters to surround her before she reluctantly hung up, and she looked at them like they were bothering her!

Edited to add: WARNING--thread hijack.:P

Not a cell phone abuser, but worse---the crying child.

We were having lunch at this great local pizza joint--the table behind us had this little boy that, no kidding, looked straight from (the awful) movie, The Grudge. He even looked at us and did the "Ahhhhh!" Creepy. But, then it started.....the crying, the screaming, the relentless fit. The parents DID NOTHING!

At one point the father picked up the child and the child slapped him in the face. The father only said, "That's enough, hunny" in a ridiculously calm voice.

Everyone in the pizza place was pulling their hair out, staring at the table of the crying child, rolling their eyes, being SO OBVIOUS that the appropriate thing to do would be remove your asshole child from the restaurant. It went on, and on, and on for the entire time we were there.

I have no idea why management didn't ask them to leave---don't they reserve the right to refuse service?

As we were leaving the father said, not looking us in the eye---"Uh, sorry for the noise".

I can't stand cell phone abusers, either, but I'll take one ANY DAY over the screaming child. >:(;)
Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.

One of my biggest peeves - Going to a restaurant and having to listen to a Nextel conversation, with the volume turned way up to over come the noise. Takes rude to a new level - And I really don't need to hear a personal conversation while I eat.

This was a real winner - The whole chat (about 5 minutes worth-) was about a visit to the GYN. I really love to hear about some dripping cooter infection while trying to enjoy a plate of tacos. Even the beer tasted nasty after that.

I too am annoyed by cell phone users and whenever I go to dine out with someone, I usually request that they put it away because I do not think it is appropriate. I have never had anyone that minded.

On the screaming child thing, I've been there with my own kids and I have removed the child from the place and taken action then returned once my son was normal again.

When I went to see King Kong, there was some people who brough young kids. (After seeing the movie, I don't see who in their right mind would take their young child to see that in the first place.) While I enjoyed the movie, the experience was surely would have been different had their not been crying children in the theater (yes more than 1).

So maybe they need to make cards to give to the crying child's parents, along with the cell phone abusers.

Cellphone users who have to constantly be yapping aimlessly are the rudest, most obnoxious, self-serving creeps I've ever seen! Are they that friggin' lonely, they have to be on their stupid phone, constantly disrupting other people's meals, movies, grocery shopping, bus ride, emergency room and so-on... I see 'em all the time, while driving, yapping and re-dialing. I want one of those zappers that when I see someone in a restaurant or theatre, on a cellphone... zzzzzzaaapp... end of call! :D
Edit to add: If, it is a real emergency, I can understand that.

I love the cards.

For a past job, I had to have a cell phone leash on me. If it rang, I had to answer it. I did my best to keep it short and always muffle the conversation with my hand. During one call while on a train, someone near by was talking loudly on their cell. After we were both done, an older female passenger walks by me and in a "mom" voice loud enough for the other caller to hear, tells me how considerate I was and that she wished other people would do the same. I could tell that the other caller did hear because she looked like she had just been scolded by her mom. The other passengers seemed to enjoy it as much as I did.

I especially hate the people who have cell phone conversations while they're at lunch/dinner... with me.

If it were a group of people it'd be one thing, but when you go out to dinner with only one other person, you should not sit down only to have a 15 minute phone conversation while that person (me) just stares at you twiddling his thumbs. Ask if it's important, and if it's not, tell them you'll call them back in an hour.

Sometimes I feel like I'm the only person who was ever taught manners as a child. >:(

I want one! Are they available? Think of the fun you could have with one of those! Get behind somebody while driving, they're on their cellphone blabbin' away and... ZAP! Hee, hee! Especially these kids that can't stay off the damned things and almost cause wrecks!

I've walked out on people whose cell phone conversations last longer than a minute or two when they're with me for dinner or drinks or some other similar social setting. It's one thing to talk to someone else quickly (say, if they're planning to meet up with us) it's entirely another to have a full conversation.

I know, what you're saying! I've had that happen... one guy in particular. We'd (past tense) go to lunch, sit down and the first thing he'd do is grab his cellphone and start punching numbers! He'd be on the damned thing the whole time we're at lunch. The bill would come, he'd hang-up and we'd leave. That only happened twice!
I can see, the need for a cellphone for emergencies but, there is no excuse for rudeness and lack of consideration for others. BUT, the cellphone companies are makin' a fortune.

I have no shame or reservations about going up to someone and asking them to be quiet or to take their conversation elsewhere. I've done so many times and usually don't get any shit about it. Unless they look like a gang-banger. Then I turn into a little pussy. [:/]

I usually don't mind it so much if someone uses their cell phone in a sleazy pub or something.

But I was in one one time eatinga hamburger & having a beer. This fat redneck was next to me at the bar talking really loud into his cell phone, and every other word was fucking this, fucking that. REALLY LOUD. The barmaid nicely kept telling him to tone it down a little but he completely ignored her & kept on with his 90 decibel F-Word marathon.

it just boggles the mind how completely clueless these people are that they are being rude.

I think it's just as rude to the person on the other end of the line to. They can't hear what your saying, the person on the phone yells louder, then everybody around get annoyed at the guy yelling.... Either it's becoming the norm...or there are a large amount of people who just don't get it...
