PLFXpert 0 #5 March 2, 2006 I heard about this on the morning talk radio They were describing the mysterious lines on the under breast and placement of her nipple stating it was definitely surgery-related. Interesting....why do celebs always deny their surgeries? It sucks for women like me who utilize self-preservation, not the latest technological innovation My Oma died a goddess (I'm biased of course)---no wrinkles, gorgeous skin...OK, so she barely had hair, but she took very good care of herself and never once shoved a needle under her eyes, in her cheeks, on her forhead or her lips. I'm not necessarily knocking it....but lately the plastic surgery epidemic has really started to annoy me. Sorry to hyjack, but it's sort of relatedPaint me in a corner, but my color comes back. PLFXpert 0 #14 March 2, 2006 I don't care either way. I just felt like ranting Seriously, not just plastic surgery, but a lot of things...it annoys me that people just can go do horrible things to themselves and even others and yet we've developed all these great new things that allow people to remedy their mistakes in a minute for a dollar.Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back. headoverheels 334 #15 March 3, 2006 Yeah, but the T-shirt add down the page is funny: "These shirts will get you girls. They are so funny that hot girls will take your shirt off of your body, throw it on the floor, bang you, and then pick it up off the floor and use it for clean up." And so true.. waltappel 1 #20 March 3, 2006 QuoteHollywood happened. There is so much pressure to be everything to everyone. At her young age, it can cause all sorts of twisted thoughts/ideas of what is "hot" and what is "not" As we all know, t's not just Hollywood. There are an enormous number of women doing things like spending time in tanning beds (a *very* bad thing, IMO), going on extreme diets, and getting cosmetic surgeries and I think it's really crazy. What I really don't get is whole deal with women getting breast implants. It's ridiculously common these days. Doesn't seem to matter at all that they look great without 'em--they get them anyway. PLFXpert 0 #21 March 3, 2006 Ya'll are SO about to get another soap box out of me. I majored in magazine journalism (and sociology & psychology). For all of those majors I had to do COUNTLESS studies and write COUNTELSS thesis papers, qualitative, quantitative, etc. While I would have loved a variety, it was impossible to do so and I stuck with related subjects so as to transpose material from one of my papers to another for a different class (hey, you can't plagerize yourself). Anywho....Seventeen magazine...which actually targets 12-15-year-olds, NOT 17-year-olds, has breast implant ads in it! No fashion magazine I read has a breast implant ad, but a magazine targeted at 15-year-olds does???? I have never tanned in a tanning bed. I used to be a swim instructor and for about 2 years I was pretty tan (depsite lotion---I only used SPF 8 back then b/c I, too, liked the tan look). Now, I couldn't be more opposite. While I enjoy a "healthy glow" it comes from a self-tanner bottle, and althought I'm out on the beach a lot, I now use an SPF 25 block with frequent re-applications. Actually, my last physical my doctor exclaimed he hasn't seen skin so undamaged as mine in a LONG time. Thank you. Thank you It's just craziness. I have to stop there. I could go on forEVER!Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.
