Shotgun 1 #1 March 6, 2006 Krisanne's hamburger thread got me to thinking about homemade burgers the other day, so now I want to cook some at home... but I'm not much of a cook, so I thought I'd ask you guys for some recipes... (other than just throwing a ground beef or turkey patty on the grill)... Please?
 lawrocket 3 #2 March 6, 2006 I've got a couple of favorite recipes. I don't know what to call them - just stuff I've done, so I'll name them now. The Captain Koons Take some ground beef and add a packet of onion soup mix to it. Add Worcestershire Sauce. Mix it all up. Note: (I've added, at time, Pappy's seasoning, Garlic Salt, pepper, other stuff) Another note: you may try an egg to hol dit together better, but then it tastes more like meatloaf. The Don Vicenzo Mix some ground beef and pesto into a burger. It's awesome. The Chevotarovich I seasoned some burger meat with Herbes de Provence, and it was tasty! Add some salt and pepper to it, and maybe even some lemon juice. Colonel Angus Just mix in some barbecue sauce with the meat. The Continental A nice type of patty melt thingy is to take a couple of slices of sourdough bread, butter them up and sprinkle grated parmesan on it and grill it. It's awesome. When you're ready to eat it, put on some Major Grey's Mango Chutney. Yummy!! I was looking in the frozen food section thinking I may buy buffalo burgers instead of beef ( I think less fat) but I also looked at their extroidanary burgers. Sounded really good - garganzola cheese, bacon - but it had like 50 grams of fat! I bought the 4% ground beef and added seasoned salt and chopped onion (no extra fat). Still really good but I didn't have to feel guilty .
