They said lenses would be $215 compared to $331 at LensCrafters, but the LensCrafters price included sales tax and I would *not* have to leave my frames. I don't think they should charge sales tax on glasses. Not a bad deal, actually. WaltRussell M. skydivermom 0 #28 March 6, 2006 Okay, ignore my previous post and forgive me for not reading the ENTIRE thread before posting Eric, one of our pilots, just had lasix surgery on Friday and he was flying the plane on Sunday. He swears by it and says it's a load off not having to mess with glasses or contacts again. He also said it took no time at all. Might that be an option?Mrs. WaltAppel All things work together for good to them that love God...Romans 8:
waltappel 1 #29 March 6, 2006 QuoteWhat happened to contact lenses? I got 'em and figured out how to put 'em in and take 'em out, but they are those flimsy soft contact lenses and I've torn 5 of them in about a week. They are supposed to last a month!!! I'm going to see if I can get something other than soft contacts because they are just not working for me. Regardless of how I end up with contacts, I am getting my glasses updated. I have never torn a contact in my 10 years of wearing them. I have no clue what I'm doing wrong, but it doesn't matter. They are such a pain in the ass to use and so fragile that I consider them completely impractical. I don't find them anywhere near as effective as glasses, either. peregrinerose 0 #34 March 7, 2006 You basically get what you pay for. Low quality optics in lenses and poorly designed frames are cheap. I do fill in work all over the place so can get my glasses anywhere for little or no cost. None are from the large supercenter store optical chains with very poor lab quality control Lenscrafters are usually pretty good. Same with Pearle. You could also get them from your eye doc's office, if you look at the pricing, it's really psychological that people think chains cost less than private practices, not always true. Do or do not, there is no try -Yoda
