PLFXpert 0 #126 March 9, 2006 Seriously! B/c, not to turn serious, but I've done a lot of research into child abuse issues, etc. Some college kids will talk about getting whipped with belts and sticks laughing about it and understanding their ass was in big trouble and that was their punishment. Other college kids I spoke to would talk about getting spanked with belts & sticks as if this was a horrible, traumatic even in their lives and they NEVER wanted to do that to their kids. It's kind of nutsPaint me in a corner, but my color comes back.
Rebecca 0 #127 March 9, 2006 I was in the ghetto Wal-Mart by my office yesterday. As I walked by a family unit, the dad on his cell phone turned to the mom and (mostly silent) child and said, "Man, shut that M***F**ing kid up!" Unfortunately, my telekinetic slap upside the head didn't reach its intended recipient. Oh, but the glare was pure ice! you've got to ask yourself one question: 'Do I feel loquacious?' -- well do you, punk?
scaryshari 0 #128 March 9, 2006 I wasn't a spanker. But I was spanked. My kid got away with a lot more than I ever did! Spare the rod/spoil the child....true. This could go on forever in SC, but the fear/respect for parents is what's so problematic in today's youth. Looking back...I should have busted my daughter's butt, and put a little soap in her "smart" mouth. It wasn't cussing..it was "attitude." Also, if she'd used the N word, she'd be pushin' up daisies. Racism is a big no-no. is

steveorino 7 #135 March 9, 2006 QuoteDoes the back of my dad's hand count. The only time he ever struck me that way and it was most deserved One of the two whippings I got from my dad (my mom busted me daily) was for "cussing". FYI. I used soap in my kids mouth. While I'm sure they have said a some bad things in their 26, 24, 23 & 21 years. I never heard it the second time. steveOrino
windcatcher 0 #136 March 9, 2006 I got the soap a couple of times, yuck! I think it's a great idea when kids start talking dirty! Sad thing is, no one thinks it's wrong to use that language as adults Mother to the cutest little thing in the world...
