ITALIAN Water Ice stands

Recommended Posts

Who puts them in the middle of a parking lot????

Walts thread got me to thinking.....there is one thing that I can not live down to this day where my SO is concerned.....Rewind 12 years ago.....

We lived in Brigantine, NJ, right on the beach...I had a job at a beach club located directly on the beach....during the summer months they would sell water ice, hot dogs, soda, etc right there to the beach goers.....Well one night my SO and I went out drinking...beautiful thing...before kids...y'all know what i mean....well we enjoyed ourselves...me, just a little too much...woke up the next morning bleary eyed but not exactly hung over....had to be at work bright and early for the breakfast rush....well I dragged my ass out of bed and drove to work...went into the parking lot and the sun momentarily blinded me as I was pulling into a parking space....yep you guessed it...the water ice stand jumped out in front of me...FUCK!! I hit the breaks...jumped out of the car to see if it was still alive:D...Needless to say the Water Ice stand was built to withstand a hurricane and well the car wasn't.....BUT...and I'll say it again....BUT (!!!)... the car had minimal damage, a spider crack along the front bumper was all the marks that were left from this mishap.....Did I mention that the car was given to my SO from his dad who pasted away like 6 months prior:$[:/]. Nice car:o.... His dad washed and waxed this thing every weekend.....sun roof....cd player...the works...Holy Crap!! Thank god no one else witnessed the attack (:D)...my co workers already thought I was a little kooky to begin with...:D

To this day my SO always advises me to watch out for those pesky Water Ice stands!!!;)

Anyone else not able to "live" something down?

Isn't that like saying "dirt mud" or something?

Texas is Texas. More South than Midwest, but no one could call West Texas part of the South with a straight face, could they really?

And, well, water ice would have to be a regionalism. Every region I've been in has considered "water ice" to be ice made from (:o) water.

The frozen bits of ice with flavor poured over them I've heard called sno-cones (when they're coarse) and Hawaiian or Italian ice (when they're fine).

There is nothing more dangerous than breaking a basic safety rule and getting away with it. It removes fear of the consequences and builds false confidence. (tbrown)
