GQ_jumper 4 #1 March 10, 2006 I just wrapped up two months of cold weather training today, and it rocked!! Kind of, it's cool cuz no one else gets to do fun stuff like this at work, but it sucks when you spend four hours laying in the snow when it's one degree outside. Either way I wouldn't trade my job for anything, it makes it all worth it when you watch your teammate go face first into the snow because he tried to stop on skiis and the sled he was towing wanted to keep goingHistory does not long entrust the care of freedom to the weak or the timid. --Dwight D. matthewcline 0 #4 March 10, 2006 Ah, the fond memories. I remember those times 40 below on the range shooten and scooten. 3 years in Alaska was something I would not trade. Death slats and shin shoes with an Ahkio full of fuel, food and a tent, now thats liven! An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!! GQ_jumper 4 #11 March 10, 2006 Not as good as getting paid to play in the tunnel with you Quote what are you talking about you're always too "busy" dealing with whuffo customers to fly with me!! The training was at camp Hale and Taylor Park, both way up in the mountains of Colorado and both way too cold!! and Matt is right, nothing beats trudging up a mountain in 1 degree weather with skiis on your feet 80 pounds on your back and a 60 pound sled tied to your waist trying to pull you back down the moutnain. We've been at this for two months and just wrapped it up with that hit the other night which convenitently kept me out of the tunnel while Kirk was giving free coaching. And now that we are done with this I'm getting ready to head to Eloy for our annual MFF requal. Followed by a short excursion near the Mediterranean this summer.
