ccowden 0 #2 March 14, 2006 About $24 per day.
skymama 37 #3 March 14, 2006 Don't they have satellite parking? It's only about $6/day at OIA if you park a little farther away and take the tram into the terminal. She is Da Man, and you better not mess with Da Man, because she will lay some keepdown on you faster than, well, really fast. ~Billvon
Icon134 0 #4 March 14, 2006 From the Newark Liberty Airport website http://www.panynj.gov/ Economy Long-Term Parking Lot P6 is: $12 for the first 24-hour period or part $4 for each 8-hour period or part thereafter So it looks like it is $12 per day...Livin' on the Edge... sleeping with my rigger's wife... Yeah... they did say that "(Total travel time from P6 to terminals is approximately 20 minutes depending on traffic)" I don't really know... the only times I've been to Newark I've rented cars... and the last time I went to Lakehurst I flew into Philly.Livin' on the Edge... sleeping with my rigger's wife... ccowden 0 #8 March 14, 2006 In my experience, it is worth the extra money to park in the closer lots and pay more. But if you allow AT LEAST 30 extra minutes and are a patient person, then you can save some cash by going economy. The part people don't figure is when they get back from the trip and you just want to get to your car and you run into the hassle of that extra time and effort of getting to the economy lots. I'm with you on that one... the only long term parking I've used is Atlanta and it's only about $8 a day and is not substantially farther then other parking (still walking distance...)Livin' on the Edge... sleeping with my rigger's wife... kenz 0 #11 March 14, 2006 honestly i would check surrounding hotels to see what kind of rates they offer... sometimes they give you good flat rates and they provide transportation to and from the airports... usually when im in the ny region family drives me but i know near philly they do that... can't hurt to look... but definitely allow yourself some extra time im a dumbass edited to change from airport to hotel"life does throw curveballs sometimes but it doesn't mean we shouldn't still swing for the homerun" ~ me
gravitational 0 #12 March 14, 2006 I use the economy lots weekly (yes, I'm on the road a bit). The cost difference between economy and close in are significant. If you're OK with tossing money away, use close in. If not, economy isn't that bad - just have to be patient with whatever mode of transport they provide to get back to the economy lot.------ Michael
Rookie120 0 #13 March 14, 2006 I do know that when you try to work the system at Denver INT and it doesnt work like you planned, a 5 day stay will cost you $134.If you find yourself in a fair fight, your tactics suck!
CanuckInUSA 0 #14 March 14, 2006 QuoteI do know that when you try to work the system at Denver INT and it doesnt work like you planned, a 5 day stay will cost you $134. If memory serves me correct, the long term economy parking lots at DIA went for $7/day. So 5 times 7 equals 35. Where's the other $99 going to? You sure you're not hanging out in the airport lounge eating and drinking ultra expensive meals and drinks? Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

ccowden 0 #16 March 14, 2006 Is it still considered "tossing money away" if you pay for something you feel is worth the cost? For me it is worth the extra $36 for 3 days to park close to the terminal without the extra transportation issues.

I always use the daily lot in ATL its like $14 a day. The boss gets a bit grumpy cuz everyone else uses the economy lots, but since we use our personal cars to get there, we can park them anywhere we choose! If it's going to be expensed, I'd park close in but my travel rules say I can only do longterm. The ride to long term is only a couple minutes though so not really ever a problem.------ Michael

Agree...Guess one of the other advantages of some long term lots is that if you park way out, it's easier to find the vehicle. I've been on the road every week so far this year (day #10 at home this year was Saturday) so I find it convenient to park in the same general row (D1 or DD1) so I don't have to go searching for the vehicle. Depending on how full the lot is, you may or may not be able to do this in close in.------ Michael
JGarcia 0 #21 March 14, 2006 Here's what I've done in the past that's worked great for me (I fly out of Orlando, FL or Tampa, FL): I call ahead to some of the hotels and find out if they have a shuttle to the airport, and if they tag cars that are staying in their hotels. Then, I simply drive to the hotel, go to the front desk and ask for a parking permit (if required) and ask for when the next complimentary shuttle to the airport is coming by. When I return from my trip, I simply hop on the shuttle back to the hotel...pickup my car...and save a ton of $$. I've never had a problem, but.... Disclaimer: do your research...and don't blame me if you get your car gets towed. Cheers! --JairoLow Profile, snag free helmet mount for your Sony X3000 action cam! Screw that. I'll leave the car at home and take a cab or a town car. Almost the same cost without the worry of leaving your car in a spot where it could be broken into. In the 40 years my old man worked for the airlines he had his care broken into three times in the airport lots. At least at home I can store it in the garage or have a roomate watch it. Or better yet, live in a city that has trains that go right into the terminals. _________________________________________ you can burn the land and boil the sea, but you can't take the sky from me....
