Rebecca 0 #4 March 15, 2006 I have to confess something. I too thought it funny for a split second. Pop was the brave one to own that in SC. Why is that? It's not funny. Is it just me, or does it seem a bit, I dunno, foolish to be walking directly next to a track knowing you can't hear a damn thing? RIP Tara. Sorry you ended so soon. you've got to ask yourself one question: 'Do I feel loquacious?' -- well do you, punk?

I think she was walking in the middle of the track not next to it. That is why she got hit.
Ashtanga 0 #6 March 15, 2006 I mean walking down the center of the railroad tracks is like walking down the middle of a highway if you are deaf.

The report I just read stated she was walking right next to it, and she was hit by the cattle-clearer on the front of the engine, which extends about 16 in. beyond the track to each side. you've got to ask yourself one question: 'Do I feel loquacious?' -- well do you, punk? Lindercles 0 #12 March 15, 2006 I read that in the newspaper today. It happened just a couple of miles from my house. What I keep thinking though is, can you imagine what the engineer is going through? I mean, he knew it was coming, and he had to sit and watch it happen and there wasn't a thing he could do about it. Poor guy must be feeling terrible. Edited to add: There was an illustration in the paper that showed her walking right next to it.
