Duckwater 0 #1 March 18, 2006 I went to Houston yesterday AM and when I went through security, there were 2 AA flight attendants that were getting hassled pretty hard. I saw one show her ID to TSA, then she put it in the bin to go through the x-ray. When she went though the detector, the TSA ripped her a new one for not having her ID. The other FA was getting yelled at for something. There were 3 people ahead of me and it took 10 minutes to get through. There was a 'bag check' bag in the x-ray and they all just stood around while announcing 'bag check' over and over. The FA's bag had gone through the scanner and was almost out of the tunnel, she reached in to get it and TSA yelled at her again.... I get it now...I saw the Dateline that basically made them look like fools that aired the night before....
gravitational 0 #2 March 18, 2006 Don't get me started on the TSA. One flight out of Houston had 10 (yes, I counted) individuals go through the metal detector without anyone screen their bags. Instead of rescreening the bags, everyone was gone by now so they never got rescreened. TSA eyebrow raisers this year? - 7 Flight count year to date - 56. Miles year to date - 50k +------ Michael
mx757 4 #3 March 18, 2006 As a Airline employee I think the TSA is a modern version of "The Keystone Cops" I don't think much of the TSA at all. Bunch of overpaid fools

Duckwater 0 #5 March 19, 2006 My best friend is a Federal Flight Deck Officer. He flashes his badge and walks right through security. He has also gotten out of three speeding tickets. The TSA will never be effective with $10 an hour employees that thir only other option is Wendy's.
mx757 4 #6 March 19, 2006 The TSA pays more than 10 bucks hour I think I heard that the starting pay was around $16 / hr
Duckwater 0 #7 March 19, 2006 The retards working yesterday AM were overpaid then... On a seperate note...Doesn't nonrevving on AA suck recently. The ONLY time I could get to IAH all weekend was yesterday AM,,,,,,And I had a friend in CHI last weekend trying to get out, ALL the flights were oversold and the were 120 non revs standing by....How can AA not be making a fortune? Everything is PACKED!

Everything is PACKED! I was wondering the same thing. I was going try to non-rev to ATL to go to Dublin boogie scratch that EVERY FLIGHT IS OVER BOOKED. and not just to ATL pick any city LAX ONT JFK ORD STL they are all overbooked load factors are running 98.8% I'm like? we have to be making money! we got 16 767 sitting in the desert @ ROS I say put them on DFW to ORD or ORD to LAX routes instead of a MD-80... Duckwater 0 #9 March 19, 2006 I bought a ticket to MIA on the 23rd for $220....That flight is already oversold, as well as all the others that day...Why in the hell tickets below ASM cost????? And MGT blames the employees..... They used to fly a 767-300 to PHX and it was packed. The y should figure out a way to utilize the 777's better than to have them sit in EZE and other locations all day. And, never sell a seat for a price that is not profitable. mx757 4 #10 March 19, 2006 I Agree. AA management does some dumb things sometimes. at work us mechanics come up with ideas to improve work.. but management won't do it. Why? because it wasn't "their" idea.... and then when thier ideas don't work.. they blame us go figure.
Duckwater 0 #11 March 19, 2006 Another thing that kills them is exactly why SWA kicks everyones ass. On the "34 minute" flight to IAH, we were # 6 for takeoff at DFW (10 min). We took off to the North and followed the SID that took us almost to ADS before turning south. Then we were vectored well south of IAH at a low altitude (burning gas) and when we finally landed, we taxied for at least 10". Block to block was over an hour, doubling the time on the A/C. Adriandavies 0 #12 March 19, 2006 I don't know much about flight operations but I do know that airlines are screwing travel agents and the general public with their pricing policies. Most airlines pay either zero or 1 -3% commission on flight tickets meaning agents have to charge booking fees which immediately makes the agent more expensive that the airline's own website. Secondly the fuel surcharges which were added when the cost of oil was up at $70 have not been reduced now that oil has come back down to the mid $50's. By keeping the high fuel surcharges the airlines are effectively increasing the cost of their tickets whilst blaming influences outside of their control. hexadecimal 0 #16 March 19, 2006 The TSA employees at Midway and O'hare are the worst... barking orders at you before you even get to the front of the line, etc. Too bad that's considered acceptable
