shropshire 0 #1 March 26, 2006 Hi, I've just watched a program with Tanya Streeter, freediving in the Caribean.... She can hold her breath for 6 minutes!! At the end of the prog', she was diving in the Great Blue hole (off Belieze), being pulled along by an underwater scooter - some fantastic shots. (.)Y(.) shropshire 0 #3 March 26, 2006 Apparently (via google)... they were created during an ice age, when sea levels were around 400' lower... The Limestone was then etched by acid rain ( not a 20th century phenomina)... (.)Y(.) When we were still down in the dark you could see one every now and then. Then when we got up towards the surface there were about a dozen of them... sooo gorgeous! Just swimming around..... ~ Lisa ~ Do you Rigminder?

cesslon 0 #15 March 27, 2006 I love freediving freediving is to scuba what BASE is to sky diving it's more exciteing, more dangerous and generally doesn't last as long and greater sense of freedom I have never BASE'd but by the above statement I mean, with BASE you choose when to jump as the cliff isn't flying around and when you jump it's into dead air. with free diving you don't have a tonn of gear and you don't realise just how restricted scuba gear is till ya at 60 feet without it
