What are some good games on the market now? I've been away from gaming for a while and saw the new Half life 2 out. That seems the first choice but what other great 1st person shooters are there out there?

if you have a brand new pc (or an Xbox 360) Morrowind: Oblivion just came out and it's supposed to be the bees knees. Kinda like Grand Theft Auto meets Lord of the Rings.

Far Cry is an older game that you can get on the cheap that is pretty good. Especially if you don't have the newest PC on the market.

Medal of Honor and Call of Duty are great also if you like the WWII stuff.

Now that I think about it, I've played FarCry and that was one of my favorites. I played Call of Duty also and that was a good one. I've heard of FEAR and The Chronicles of Riddick. Is FEAR a first person like Farcry?

F.E.A.R (it's a F.P.S) is definitely worth a shot - need a moderately beefy system to run it decently. If you thought 'The Ring' or the 'The Grudge' was spooky - this game with mess with you - as the designers appear to have used elements of those movies.

If you like multiplayer - give Battlefield 2 a try. Within a week you'll be fluent in some f'ed up forms of Arabic and Chinese (where the only expressions you'll know will be along the lines of 'Enemy Forces spotted.') .
The Spec Forces expansion didn't really impress me alot, though. Seems to be a common sentiment amongst the guys here at work.

Call of Duty 2 is well worth getting (when they sort punk buster out and nail the cheats.) And as far as F.E.A.R goes i would say if your machine can handle it, buy it. Its just so damn creepy that you cant help but smile half the time for no good reason as you know something is gonna happen

Also if you have a good router Battlefield 2 is great, unfortunately i have a BT router so i just crash when loading server lists etc
